Hi all!

I've been lurking for a while and just booked my families FIRST trip to WDW! I've already learned so much from you all but I decided to jump into the discussion and get some of my questions answered!

So here's my first question. Our trip is scheduled for the first week in Dec 2008. Will the parks be decked out for Christmas yet? When do the decorations go up?

Yes the parks will be decorated, they start prety much right after halloween.

You will get to see all the magical holiday decorations Decorations go up in November, before Thanksgiving I believe but I don't remember the date.

Don't miss the Osborne Lights at Disney's Studios. They turn on at 6:00 every evening. If you wouldn't mind paying more $ for the entrance, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a fun thing to do. Also, if you have time, check out the Gingerbread house at the GF and cool set ups made from chocholate at the BW, BC and CR.

Yes, the decorations will be up -- we go the week after Thanksgiving every year and it is BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy!!

Christmas is special at WDW. I went to MVMCP---you do pay extra for it but it was fun. At MGM (wrong name! can't get used to new one), the Osborne lights are fantastic. It even snows. At EPCOT, we had reservations for the Candlelight Processional. The concert was great. You can hear it without the dinner reservations but you are guaranteed a seat. If you search back in the past posts, you will find pros and cons about these things. Last year was my first Christmas there and I would go again. The first week will be great with the crowd level too.

Hi and Welcome to the boards!!! IMHO, you have picked the most wonderful time of the year to go!!! That is our families 'time' we love. Disney will be decked in all it's Christmas finery. Enjoy.
