I just called to make reservations for my kids for the Neverland Club next week. They just raised the price to $10/hr/child. At that price, the kids are going to have a great time, while mom and dad dine privately at McDonald's.

Do you know if it is just the Neverland Club, or all babysitting places at WDW that increased their prices? At the rate we are going, we will have to cancel a few P.S.'s with all of the increased prices.

Try private in room baby sitting for a 2 year old - $12 per hour, with a minimum of 5 hours!! Plus tips are expected! Next time we're taking Grandma :)

My neighbor's just got back and the Sandcastle Club was $10 an hour so I guess they have all gone up.:(

I looked last night and a lot of the places are now charging $8 a kid. That's too much. It would be $96 for my three. I think I'll check Fairy Godmothers again.

When I called, the CM said, you know the price, right? So I said $8/hr/child. And she said, no it's just been raised to $10/hr/child. So I don't know if it's all the clubs, but all the prices are definately going up before our eyes. We have Luau ressies for next week too, and those prises have gone up, since we have not yet paid in full for them.

I just called Fairy Godmothers and booked them for November. I'm not paying $ 10 an hour per kid. For four hours, I'm paying $60 vs. the $120 Disney wants. I guess it's not bad if you have only one but once again, big families get the cold shoulder.

Wow! That is expensive!
Thank goodness I have my own built in babysitter!

We have a daughter, 16 and two boys 8 and 5.

She is much cheaper than that!

Maybe she should work down there!

Families with just one child under 4 also don't fare well! It's $60 for 4 hours for the 1 child (plus tips are appreciated). The clubs aren't a choice :( AND food is not included with babysitting.

Do they give any kind of price reduction if you are a guest at that particular Deluxe resort? For the prices they charge at the Deluxes, you would think they would give a price break for the kids' clubs.

Jennifer - unless things have changed, I don't think the deluxe resorts give you a break on the price. When we used the Sandcastle Club for DS in 1998, we did not get a discount and we stayed at the Beach Club. I am happy my son is a teen now or we would be forced to pay Disney prices for a sitter.

No, there is no discount. We stayed at WL in August and dd stayed at the Cub's Den one night for a few hours, at that time it was still $8 an hour (guess it's $10 now)....

so I'm wondering then if Camp Dolphin went up, I believe they already charged $10 an hour, so I would hope they didn't have an increase too.

At Neverland there is also a 3 hour minimum--so a minimum of $30 per child! At least that used to be the policy when the charge was $8 per hour/per child. It was very pricey when sending two or more children!

I know when our kids were young, we didn't even go out to dinner because who could afford a $200 evening (our meal and their Neverland adventure) AND still have the family dining experiences, too.

Guess I'm really thankful now that mine are no longer kid club "eligible" and I have one old enough to supervise IF we wanted a night out--which we don't do any longer now that ours are older. ;)

Thanks for the information Lauri. We will be joining you at McDonalds:(

It would be nice if they offered a discounted rate for each additional child. My kids wouldnt be happy with in room babysitting, they are too old.

Do they give the kids a meal with that price, or do they charge extra for that?

Thanks

Actually, Fan2, I thought that my kids - 11,10 and 8 - would be unhappy with inroom sitting but the more I think about it, I think it will work better than the clubs. Fairy Godmothers will take them out around the resort, to the game room, ice cream. I'm not sure about swimming. In fact, maybe the older two can play outside by themselves, which is what they do at home with a sitter. I just need someone around for general supervision.

Fan2--They do not give a discount on additional children, but they do provide dinner (very child friendly buffet) and snacks. DS is really excited about the video games, and DD is really excited about the dressup.

BTW, we just cancelled our ressies for the Luau. A night out for our anniversary just seemed more important than $150 for the Luau.

Karel, my kids have stayed in the clubs before so this is where my problem lies. They are really looking forward to doing it again and I think a visit from the Fairy Godmothers just wont cut it.

I used Fairy Godmothers when my son was a toddler I didnt know they can take them out of the room! I'm not sure I would be comfortable with that. Okay call me over protective.

Let me know if you use them and how it worked out for you! Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Lauri,

Thanks for the info on the dining. I'm sorry you had to cancel your Luau plans but I agree dinner out for your Anniversary is a must:)
Enjoy!

Except for the Neverland Club, I found the clubs to be very empty. I guess if there are only the 3-5 kids I ever saw in June and 3 staff members (the norm by my observations) they have to charge a lot. I wonder if they'd do better lowering the price and getting better attendance, or if they are just trying to find a way to make the whole thing go away.
