Never thought I would be asking Jersey Week questions:)

I used to go during Jersey Week with my mom when I was younger but remember it being nice and quiet then...so I was an oblivious kid or it's just gotten WAY more popular:)

Anyway...dh is pretty adamant about not pulling the girls out of school, which limits our vacation timing choices:) Can't go during the summer because our younger can't tolerate heat due to one of her meds, which limits us further:)

Which brings us to Jersey Week! Our trip dates would be Tuesday 11/7-Sunday 11/12...and I have a few questions.

--I know this year that weekend included the end of Jersey Week, the end of the F&W festival AND Super Soap weekend. Do all three events always end up falling the same weekend? And if so, does anyone recall how MK was that Saturday? Or are all the parks just dreadful that weekend? :earseek:

--If Super Soap isn't always that weekend, when do they release the dates?

--We were just at WDW the first week of December and heard lots of people saying it was packed...I thought it was really great and was able to do everything we wanted with minimal waits using TGM and the UG...looking at some of the Jersey Week trip reports I see a similar theme of some people saying it was awful and others saying it was crowded but okay with a plan...can I draw from that comparison that we would be fine during Jersey week if we hit the parks early, use a touring plan and get out for an afternoon break?

--If you aren't interested in the 'big ticket' rides--Soarin', Test Track, the Mountains, etc., does that make a big difference or is it more of an overall oppressive crowd feeling? My kids preferred the playgrounds, character meals and shows to most of the rides (except for DD-4 and Goofy's Barnstormer  ) so the talk of wait times doesn't really mean much to me...but I think I might get serious negative vibes from dh if walking through the park is like being in Times Square New Year's Eve...is it?

Guess that is all for now...would love some feedback since nothing is set in stone yet and I'd love some info to sway me one way or the other about deciding on dates. Thanks!

We were at Jersey week this year & I felt it was terribly overcrowded everywhere. Have been to JW in past, and it was never ever this crowded before.

Also went in June 2005.. Thought both weeks had just as many crowds.

Can't explain why this past NOv. trip was as crowded. But yes you will do better if you are not looking to go on the "E" ticket rides. And yes...earlier is better to get in parks...Always is...

If you really can't take kids out of school and heat is a problem, yes go JErsey week. Epcot's F&W festival is fantastic. Our kids always love it.

Is your older daughter going to be in K or 1st grade? I can understand your dh not wanting to pull the kids out of school, but wouldn't it be only the older one in school? This fall(06) we decided to go the week after you-Oct 15- because that week is our elementary conference week, 1/2 days all week. But when dd gets into 2nd or 3rd grade we are probably going to go during summer-shudder- because then we'll have ds in school too.

Good luck with whatever you decide, maybe pull your next year school calendar off the web and see if there is another option available.
