Never stay at All Stars During Pop Warner

We just got back from 7 nights at ASMo.
It was our first time staying at All Star Movies, and we were a little disappointed. The theming and look were great, and so were the CM's. Our real complaints was how loud the rooms were.
We ran into 2 problems.

1. You could here everything going on in the rooms around you. We could understand the peoples conversations. You could here the drawers opening and closing. Normally this wouldnt be a big deal, but the people on one side of us stayed up late, and the people on the other side got up early. Hard to get rest.

2. The chearleader Invasion. It was crammed full of young cheerleader girls. For the most part they were nice, but they were just very loud. During the day no big deal, but one squad practiced until 2:30 am, and another started at 6:00 am the next morning.

With a 3 year old that thrives on sleep it made it very hard to get the rest he needed!

Other than that it was great, expect a trip report soon.

This is why I am skrimping and saving so we can stay elsewhere onsite. I would have called the manager and complained about the late and early practicing. I am all for practicing, but come on!! Hope the rest of your trip went great.

The only good thing that happened after our 1996 stay was that we NEVER had to go back to ASSp. Thank you Cheerleaders!!

This is what I am worried about. I am planning to stay at the ASmo and I want to stay in the Toy Story theme rooms. I am concerned about the cost of the room. I can't help but wonder why it is so much cheaper than the other places. I have found places that I would like to stay at but I do think that my kids would LOVE to stay in the Toy Story rooms. My dd will be four when we are staying there and I believe that you get what you pay for.

The cost seems to be too good to be true. We will need sleep though so is this accommodation known as a noisy place?

Thanks for posting your views.

One word of warning, if your going and expecting to get into a Toy Story room, it may not happen.

My son (3 1/2) wanted to stay in the following order:
1. 101 Dalmations
2. Toy Story
3. Herbie
4. Fantasia

I actually offered to pay for preferred room for 101 or Toy story and we didnt get either one. We ended up staying at Fantasia.

The noise level as I already mentioned was high. We stayed at POR in March and was MUCH happoer about the noise. And the rates were only $25 more with the codes.

That being said we stayed at ASMo beacuse my son wanted to, but I dont think well be staying there again. If we did it would be for only 1 or 2 nights.

There rate at the All Stars is so low because the rooms are
smaller, and they don't have all the extras that the other resorts have.

We stayed at Sports for a week in 2001 and didn't hear any noise from the rooms around us.

There's no guarantee you will get a room in the Toy Story buildings. You can make a REQUEST, but that's it.

Why do the coaches think it's ok for the girls to practice at such odd hours?

I have stayed at 5 different deluxe WDW resorts & never heard a peep from the adjacent rooms. Better soundproofing? ;)

We saw enough of the hordes of cheerleaders over at Downtown Disney...so glad they were not staying at the WL.

We've stayed 3 times and have not been bothered by the noise. Luckily no cheerleaders around.............we also got the Dalmatians like we requested except for the first time and we got Mighty Ducks right next to it. We have loved it all of the times and really find it hard to go to a moderate and pay the difference, we may do that this year though.

We just got back from ASMo.
I did get all my room requests (Toy Story, 3rd floor, quiet corner, no smoking) and was so happy about that, but I don't think we will stay there again either.
It was quiet where we were, but it just wasn't the same as a moderate.
The cheerleaders were everywhere and they were loud!

We stayed at ASSPort in 2000-01 and the noise, the shennanigans, screaming, leaving food all over the place, dropping their garbage throughout, was a total disappointment. We complained, but management did nothing. They told us they were aware of the problem and had posted "extra security" to control the kids behavior.

No apologies, no arrangements to move us or anything, even after going to the front desk in person about five times. I was told by CMs that they are specifically instructed not to tell anyone inquiring, when making a reservation, if any youth groups are booked.

Therefore, our trip in February we have decided to spend the extra money for the comfort of the AKL. My kids age 10 and 12 now, totally refuse to go back to All Star Sports. What does that tell you?

My son was 9 when we stayed at All Star sports. He loved it there!:bounce:

When I told him were returning to the world in 2003, he was only request was for us to stay at All Star Sports again. :smooth:

The noise level when the AS resorts are busy and the chance of sharing the resort with these youth groups have led us to pay the extra for the moderate resorts. We loved the theming and the foodcourt of the AS but after a long day at the park we need our rest.

Just my opinion, but I think it's the luck of the draw of who happens to be in the room(s) next to you, and what groups happen to be there at the same time as you, and this applies to ALL the resorts. I was able to hear the people in the room next to me at the Contemporary and Caribbean Beach as well as the All-Stars. But I've also had very quiet stays at all of these resorts as well, including a stay at the All-Stars. I've also heard the Wilderness Lodge has thin walls at times too. So just upgrading to a moderate or deluxe doesn't guarantee quiet. In fact, my most irritating time was one of the nights and the following morning at the Contemporary, when apparently someone kept running across the room above me (or bounding across, probably some kid jumping around), and I could hear every pounding footstep. But that sort of thing can happen at any hotel, and you learn to put up with it. Now the cheerleaders at 2:30am though, that's a little bit different, and I think if they were loudly shouting out in the courtyard that late it would warrant a call to the front desk. But again, I don't think there's any way to escape noisy neighbors unless they will offer to move you, and it happens at every level of hotel.

I believe because the All Star resorts are value level, they do attract youth groups and/or all types of group trips. I think that you should be aware of this when booking into these resorts.

I stayed at ASSp when my niece's dance troupe was invited to perform in the MK. Many, many other dance troupes were staying at both ASMu and ASSp while we were there. It was doable for a short visit. JMHO

We were at PO Riverside, Alligator Bayou, Bldg. 17 last Thursday and Friday nights. Guess who our neighbors were? Cheerleaders. We had no problems. There were lots of them, they were practicing in the garden outside our room at all hours of the day and night, they were in the food court, the arcade, the lobby, everywhere.

At no time were they unsupervised, or causing any trouble for other guests. Kids are kids. They're noisy and sloppy, and there isn't one of us on any of these boards who wasn't a kid once, and some of us still are (at heart, anyway!).

We were at AS Mu on 12/3, just before the invasion of the cheerleaders, and it was fairly crowded and busy, but I didn't find the noise level annoying. I didn't expect to like the All Stars, but I couldn't beat the price and it was only one night. Now, however, we've decided to take two "long weekend" trips before our next big trip in December, and will stay at AS Mu for both of them!

Maybe we just got a bad room, but I can handle normal hotel noises. In this case I could fully understand the conversations going on in the next rooms, and they were not talking loud. I could actually hear the hangers being moved on the shelfs and drawers opening and closing.

I'm sorry you had such a problem with noise. We stayed at Movies in early December 2000, and we didn't have much problem. I could hear people walking past our door in the morning (we were right near the stairs), but not much else. We really liked it there, the food court was wonderful and the theming is great. We have since stayed at YC/BC, but mainly for location. If I wanted to save money, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at ASMo again! My kids loved it.

The cheerleaders and/or coaches should take into consideration that the All-Stars are also used for guests who are on vacation. I have not runned into this problem, but understand that they should be more considerate. There should be a distinguished practice area for them elsewhere instead of practicing late and early to disturb those who are sleeping at a RESORT. :p

I can certainly understand how the (loud!) constant cheerleading chants could drive you mad. We were waiting in line to go on It's a Small World when my youngest started fidgeting and fussing like crazy. We were close to abandoning our spot in line when a horde of cheerleaders joined the line and began cheering, stomping, and clapping, etc... (It echoed quite loudly under the grotto's ceiling.) My son (15 months) thought that was pretty cool and became mesmerized with their chants. (I found it a tad annoying but it was all in fun, so we took it in stride.) Thankfully, my DS stopped his squirming, fascinated by the cheerleaders, and before we knew it our boat arrived!

I was glad they weren't stying at our resort, however.
