My family and I are making our first ever disneyland trip. We will be in california 4/1 - 4/6. Our flight arrives late (7:30 pm) on the 1st and leaves early (10:30 am) on the 6th. We have a 4 day park hopper ticket, but we have never seen the ocean. Is there an affordable option for a family of 6 to take a half day trip to see it? I'd hate to be so close to it but not see it. Also would we have enough time to go for a half day since this is our first dl trip or would we need all those days at dl to get the best experience?

You will see the ocean as you land, LAX is near the ocean, relatively speaking. Depending on the direction you approach LAX, alot of the time the flight path is either along the coast or in the stacking formation if the airport is busy, they send you out over the ocean

I know there are beaches near to Disney, well within 1 hour travel if you have a car, but I cant think right now. The main beach area I go to is Santa Monica which is the other side of LAX. I usually do a split stay , part in LA to do LA stuff like Hollywood and Santa Monica and then go over to Disney.

You could rent a car at DLR and drive to Huntington Beach.

Huntington Beach is about a 30 to 45 minute ride depending on traffic. We have gone up to Downtown Disney in the morning for shopping and lunch on a Huntington Beach vacation.

Our first DL visit (and never seeing the ocean either) we spent 3 days at the parks and rented a car to go to the beach (among other things). We really didn't spend more than 2 hours there as it was pretty cold as it was a nice sight to see. We also felt like 3 days was a good amount of time at the parks as well so taking a half day for the beach shouldn't be a killer.

Huntington Beach is good and so is Laguna beach, redondo beach, and long beach. All are less than an hour (that's traffic time not mileage). Most of the airports (lax, John Wayne) fly out over ocean to take off. Almost all land from inland. You could easily do ca adventures in a day, Disneyland will take you two to see all shows, parades, and rides. So half day at any beach is doable. You could easily renta car for a day but be prepared for crazy la drivers. Only drivers I've seen that are crazier are in Boston or San Francisco.

If you have young kids hit corona del Mar on Soutsouth side of the Newport coast. If not Huntington is good
