No point losses for me. Never borrowed, and never rented. I bank regularly - pretty much always roll over some banked points - anywhere from 20-80 is typical, then use them up in the next use year. If I stay in 1-bedroom villas 4 times a year, I'll end up slowly accumulating more banked points each year - if my banked points begin to build up over 100 points, then I'll usually just do a splurge and get a room I really don't need - like grab a 2-bedroom instead of 1, or stay at a pricy point location to burn off the extra. If I do 5 trips a year, that usually keeps me about even, with 20-30 points to bank at the end of the year.
We have never rented our points. We normally visit twice a year, but anticipate that may change with our recent retirements (perhaps more trips of shorter duration). We prefer one-bedroom units, but book studios when our trips are more park or event centric.
