Never received a code/pin in my life!!!

:dance3::dance3:My family is very lucky. We've received PIN codes at least once or twice a year for the past 3 or 4 years. Sometimes it's Dining, sometime's it's room only. I may be way off base, but I attribute my fortune to having a Disney Visa, requesting vacation DVD's and DVC information, and "pricing" Disney vacation on their website now and then. I try to place my email or address on anything Disney a few times a year. You may be doing the same, and still not receiving PINs, but that's the only thing I can attribute it too....except maybe good luck and pixie dust. :wizard:

I think it's just good luck and pixie dust. I do all those things and still have never received a PIN code. Of course I also have an AP and go to WDW at least four times every year, so Disney probably think they have me hooked, so they don't have to send me Pin codes. either that or they just don't like Texans.:rolleyes1:mad:

Another Northerner here in the same boat! I received a PIN ONCE nearly 10 years ago the same week we closed on our first house and we had a newborn.... obviously, I couldn't use it....... never got another one after that but many of my friends get them all the time :confused3:confused3:confused3

Ditto to that! We never gotten a pin offer. :(

I take that back. . .we've gotten one for Disneyland Paris once. :confused3

Paris? Lol. We used to get emailed "special offers" that I would eagerly open, thinking it might be a pin code. And they were special offers indeed...about how we could have our corporate meetings at WDW or some other business-related thing. I want to go to WDW for vacation, not work!

In all our years and in all our trips to WDW (probably been 25 times in 13 years), we have never received a pin an we have always stayed on site. However, this time we are staying at the Dolphin. If I had received a pin, we would have moved onsite, but since we did not we will stay elsewhere. Guess Disney doesn't want my money as much as I would like to give it to them!

I have been lucky enough to recieve a pin code over the years. However, the last two I got I was not able to use, so Im afraid they took me off the list..waaaaaaa :worship:

How do you call and check to see if you have one? We just got back and are thinking of rebooking for later this year...

you just call and ask them if there is a pin attached to your name/address. i tried, and she said no, that you would get an email or postcard if you had a pin. but i've read on here that people called and they said there was one under their name. i'm wondering if maybe they just decide to give random people who call a pin :confused3

It's amazing b/c I used to get them all the time when we couldn't go, and I went online and did some pricing the other day and 2 days later got a PIN in the mail. Of course, I can't use this one either!!! :lmao:

What was your offer, if you don't mind me asking?

We took our first trip down as a young family (me, wife, our then 3 y.o. son) last year and I happened to notice an email offer when we were pricing it out for the 30/35/40...so I always took this as the norm.

We're trying to plan a bigger family outing for end of August this summer (incl. my parents and siblings) but sadly let me pin offers from the winter expire before we booked anything (never noticed the exp. dates). We're probably going regardless, but discounts are going to play a role in exactly where we stay (stayed at BC last year and would love to swing that again, but would prob go either POR, POFQ, CBR or Swan/Dolphin otherwise)...and now it looks like the general free dining offers are going to work out so that our dates fall right in the middle of the two (we have conflicts up to August 14, and then they start again on August 29th...so a two week window, that perfectly coincides with the blackout of Free Dining offers!!!).

We patiently await an offer every day..we've got everyone signed up on the website, have about 4 or 5 planning DVDs sent out to the various households involved, etc. Maybe today is the day?

I think I received a postcard with a pin a couple years ago, but I was pregnant and couldn't go :sad2: I just sent for signed up for the free dvc and disney world dvd hoping maybe that will do something!

My theory is that Disney sends the codes to people who are registered with them but rarely/never book trips. I have a friend who is registered with Disney and she has received more than 1 pin over the years but has never actually booked a trip.

Just my thoughts but I wonder if there is any merit to this?

Oh, and we live in Canada so count as 'north' people.

I've never received a PIN, after about 10 trips in the past 12 years.

BUT, we just today booked a trip using a PIN.

Up until today, we've alway taken advantage of bounce-backs and public free dining offers, so I've never really needed a PIN. Still, it always suprised me when I booked, and when I would check in, that the CM would say or ask "This is your first trip here?"

As it turns out, (With the help of a VERY nice CM) My wife and I have many multiple profiles set up in the Disney system. We like to talk directly to a CM when we book, and I guess they tend to set us up as new customers each time we book a trip.

We called to see if we had any PINs last week, and the CM said we had one for free dining, if we arrive on/before Aug 13th, if we booked before April 30. I needed to make sure my schedule allowed the trip, and called back 3 days ago to reserve our trip. The CM said we had no PINs or other offers. :sad1:

Today, my wife called to see if we had the Visa PIN, and the CM said no, but we had a room discount PIN attached. She also told us her system showed that our last trip was in 2005. (We've been there 5 times since that trip.)

So we just booked, and got a good deal, IMO. And I think I have a clue as to why I never see any of these fabled PINs showing up in the mail or email. I think I've been getting them all along, but they've been going to old email accounts associated with duplicate Disney profiles.

I never ever got a PIN code either. And it's not like I go every year. It's been almost 4 years since my last trip, you would think they would want to encourage me to book a Disney vacation. I really could have used the free dining PIN. :sad2: The last time I had free dining was when we went in late August and used the Disney Visa code.

I'm going to make the best of it though. I'm saving money staying at the Dolphin and we might rent a car and eat offsite.

Me either!!! I'm a lurker, but I'm ALWAYS looking for PINs or discounts! I'm trying to schedule for October or November, but NEEEEEED a PIN! I really want the room discount since this will be our 10th anniversary and we are finally going to live our dream at AKL CL!

I've got fingers, toes, and eyes crossed!!!!

I'm in Canada and never received a pin either :( Hopefully they'll come out with one I can use next May :D

We went for 3 years in a row without a pin. Last year we got a pin in May (40% off deluxe for fall/winter with a few black out weeks) My sister has never gone to Disney and she has already received this pin offer twice so far this year - so far, I haven't gotten another one.... waiting......

Not to burst your bubble, but I don't think so...we go every year (twice a couple of years) and get pins fairly regularly. I've had two so far this year - one for a room discount, that I should have booked but didn't (didn't think we were going) :headache: and one for free dining before 8/13. Now I think we're doing a trip in September, but I really need another room discount. Hoping for a GP discount or another pin :thumbsup2

Do you know if this was for two different dates? I received one that expired 02/28, and I didn't book it - at the time we weren't going - but now I'm hoping for another one. Wasn't sure if they were sending any room discount codes right now...
