Yes the crowds were out of this world. We were at MK on Thursday. March 24th (manageable) and Tuesday, March 29th (can you say gridlock!).

That said, we had a great time because we stayed ahead of the crowds and used fastpasses to the max. We were in the parks before 7 a.m. and Epcot and MGM before 8 a.m. (EMH) and there was never a line up to get in as they were letting people in before the official opening times.

Quite a few rides were shut down periodically for maintenence. Our day at Epcot, MIssion Space and Spaceship Earth were closed for a time. On our last day at MK, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean were both closed for a period of time. This back up things at SM, our fast pass lane took 45 minutes. The Stand by line was 120 + minutes.

We left MK about 1:30 in the afternoon and the area around SM and TMR was gridlock. 120+ minute wait at both.

I really feel sorry for those who do not know the tricks for doing Disney, like EMH and Fastpasses. There are still people that think you need to pay extra for the fastpasses. I even had a lady ask me where I got my park map from??? I felt sorry for her.

We used the MYW dining plan and I will write up a review and post it on the Dining board. It was awesome!!

Oh I share your pain. We were there on the 29th got there early got on jungle cruise POTC and SM had fast passes for BTMR but it was down. waited for SM 40 min when we got off the line was 2 hrs. We left to go to epcot after that. (thank heavens I got the park hoppers) I t was less crowded there. Went back to MK the night of the 30th got on Buzz, IASW and HM without problems, saw Mickey's Philhamagic but got caught in the Wishes and 10 PM parade crowd. took us 45 min to make it the tomorrowland bridge to the start of main street I will never go when the park is that crowded again.

I'm glad you had fun anyway.

I feel the same way about Christmas--we did our first ever Christmas visit last year and never again. It was fun and better than sitting around the house but...we've always gone off-season and we have a more enjoyable time then.

I did Easter once and it was PACKED. I did get to do the Bunny Hop and help set the world record for longest bunny hop. It turns out that we had to do it for an hour straight so that they could get the TV version. "Okay, now that we have Guiness happy, let's get this for TV." I was like "Okay." Great memories though. :)

Our sentiments exactly. On the 29th we started off at Epcot, then tried to go to MK around 12:30 but they closed it off due to capacity. I do thank the OP (and many others) for leaving when you did, because they opened MK back up by 3 or so. Didn't even try Space Mt. (all FPs were given out & standby was 140 min.), but we were able to do Splash Mt. for the first time.

Yes, it does seem that SO many people don't care to look into FastPass or assume that they're not eligible. Although one guy did ask where he could buy one.

:crowded: All I can say is "Wow!"... glad to hear you had a great time still with the crowds
