view.html

this is the second attempt and using a different hosting site. am i doing something wrong? this is what we use to be able to do when i used photopoint. this is imagestation.

let me try one more time...i think i figured it out...let's hope :D

i did it i did it...just have to shrink the pics a bit but by george i think i've got it!!!! :D :D :D :D

It looks like ImageStation doesn't allow remote linking either. :(

chris...can you not see the pic i posted? just wondering based on what you just commented. i can see it so i just assumed others can too.

No. What I was seeing was an graphic stating that I was "trying to view an image outside of ImageStation"

After reviewing the source code, I think I know what the problem is... Looking at the end of the url there is an extra bit on the end that shouldn't be there. I think that's what is throwing up the "no permission" graphic. (the part highlighted in red below)

&#91img]http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid23/pcfafaa49132d773e374379110f44924a/fda1f617.jpg.orig.jpg[/img]

When I remove that part from the url, the image displays fine.

If you have another image stored on that site, post it here and I'll see if the same coding comes up. I will say too that when I copied the url from the "no access" graphic, and then downloaded the image to disk, I did get the Picture of your yard. :D

I'm going to modify the url in your post and see if that makes a difference on what image I see.

Mr. Cricket and I were going over a similar issue the other day, could it be that I've discovered how remote sites block the images from displaying? What do you think JC?

Let's allow that one to stew for a while and see if it is removed or not....

I can see it right now and it's not in my cache.

JC

Arrrggggh!

I see the correct image now too. Since I eventually managed to get it to display, it's loaded into the cache file on our server! (That also explains why you'd be able to see it properly.)

I'll still drop the end off that code and check it from home tonight.

Were you seeing the same banner I was originally JC?

(I've cleared my cache files, and now the "offending" banner is back... but just in in the reply with the extra .orig.jpg)

How does it feel to be a guinea pig 99? ;)

On her post (the one with the "orig.jpg") I am getting the banner, on my post (without the "orig.jpg") I get the yard picture.

I wonder if they are just stupid or do they think we are?

JC

Ahhhhh, now I see the banner too on the first, but still the picture in the second...

Penny :D

Probably a little of both JC. hehehe

And don't do that to me Disneymad! I KNEW you had to be seeing the banner in the first one! (as I haven't modified it yet.)

But you know, I was never able to get that banner graphic to download. I wanted to post it so 99 could see what the heck we were going on about.

I know what I did in the first post. It was the spot where I actually loaded the pic and then viewed it. I hadn't gone back into the album and then posted from the album. The second pic post I went back to the album and actually posted from the album.

So Chris - I'm assuming that you could see the second pic here on the screen and you were talking about the first pic and the jpg.orig.jpg thingy. I do think you may have figured something out....hmmmmmmmmm :D :D :D :D

We are not counting the VERY first attempt that you made 99. We are refering to your second one and the one in my post.

JC

Of course they have a disclaimer in the aggreement:

....You may not take the results from your use of the Service and link to them...

If they find out (using a bandwidth/page compare), they can still pull the account. :(

That is how Brinkster does it.

JC

So I SHOULDN'T be posting pics that I have put in my albums then??? Is basically what they are saying correct? I think I need to just pay to use a site yearly and just have it done with.
