Hey all,

I closed on a contract back in December of 2009, I didn't think this was a big deal but I would like some feedback.

I purchased a BCV resale and after the closing I never received my title. At closing I paid in full with cash and was expecting the title in the mail. The title company claimed that they sent it and told me not to worry about it because it was filed on record and that I could get a duplicate made anytime.

I have since used my DVC many times over the past year, loving every minute of it. Should I be concerned about this?:confused3 I currently do not have the actual title in my possession.

Thanks.

Joe

If you've used the membership, then Disney has a copy of the recorded deed, so obviously it was filed correctly. However, I can understand why you would want a copy. You can look up the documents on the Orange County Comptroller's website, which is located here: http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/

Something else that should have been sent with your closing documents would be the title insurance policy (if your title company required this). DId you receive that? If you paid for it, but did not receive it, I would definitely contact the title company again and inquire about it. I'd also ask the title company to supply a new certified copy of the deed and waiver of ROFR. It's the title company's responsibility to deliver those documents to you.

I bought Feb 2010 and got title several months later. the PP has given you some good steps and you have right to be concerned.
