Never Go on the Roof when...

Your petrified of height.

I have lots of pine trees. They collect on a area where the roof meets the front porch.

I continually ask DH to clean the roof, it never gets done. So what do I do put a ladder up against the house. With my trustly broom I'm going to clean the roof. All goes well, UNTIL it's time to get of the roof.

I throw the broom down, now it's time to climb down the ladder. Oh my, I can't do this. No one ever told me you have to come down the ladder backwards. I'm hopelessly stuck up on the roof. I sit down and try to plan my strategy, There's only on thing to do SCREAM BLOODY MURDER and hope a neighbor hears. The mailman! Thank You, well I'm off the roof and you can bet I'm never going back.

LOL, you gave the mailman an opportunity to be a hero.

I was helping reroof my house until my shoes started slipping. I came too close to slipping off the roof. I decided to get down and got everyone drinks instead. lol

Several years ago, our neighbors were building a shed next to their house. Mind you..this is across the street from us...and probably about 300 yards away.
Anyways. we hear this screaming...so we go to investigate, about the same time the phone rings. It's my neighbor, they are stuck on the roof of their shed, and the ladder has fallen...fortunately, my neighbor had her cordless phone in her pocket....

LOL....

My husband yelled across the street..."Looosssserrrrs!" Fortunately, we're such good friends, they didn't take offense, and we went to save them....

I did the same thing too, once. For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to sunbathe on the roof. Heehee! When it was time to come down, I didn't think it was such a great idea.

MAMU. my mom had the same situation...dad wouldn't get to the list. Mom got fed up got "Rent a Husband" to do the chores for 1 day and dad now does them He never wants to see that van parked in front of the house again. Mom was quite proud of herself

Oh Mamu, you poor thing! I'm glad everything worked out alright for you, what a nice mailman!

You're not alone you know. DH tells me he's seen lots of people get a little "spooked" coming down a slopped roof and having to turn backwards to get on the ladder.

After this experience I'm sure you'll be anxious to give your DH his old job back!
