1-price.

2-you are allowed 1 checked bag and 1 carry on, for free.

3-starting exactly 24 hours before flight time, you check-in to get your spot in line. There are A, B, and C classes, with A boarding first. As long as you check-in early, you'll pretty much be guaranteed to sit together.

4-probably in June.

1. Basically, it's price. The Wanna Get Away fares are going to be the cheapest.

2. Southwest allows one carry-on and one smaller, personal-type item. Usually that means something like a purse or laptop or something like that.

4. If you go to the Southwest website, click on Travel Tools in the upper right corner, then select View All Travel Tools. Right now it's showing that they'll open up dates through January 4 on June 4. After that it'll show when the next batch of dates will open up.

Wanna Get Away is going to be your cheapest option, if you have to change you get your $$ in the form of a Southwest Credit
Anytime This fare is refundable
Business Class is also refundable but also includes drinks on the plane, priority line for check in and security and A1-A15 on the flight

You're each allowed 1 carry-on and 1 personal item (ie purse, camera bag, CPU bag). You each also get 2 checked bags up to 50 pounds each at no additional charge

3-are there any garuntees that we will get to sit together on the plane? how does this work?
Southwest makes no guarentees that you get to sit together. When you sign in for your tickets 24 hours before you are given a letter and number A, B or C and 1-60 in each. A's will get to sit where they want no problem. Most if not all B's will also be able to get 2 seats next to each other. C's may or may not be able to get 2 seats together. Best bet is just to check in at the 24 hour mark.

4-when is the soonest i can buy plane tickets for late January 2013???
They are now accepting reservations through November 2nd, I think it will open up for Christmas soon which may or may not include late January, you just have to watch to see when it opens.

Another thing to rememer is that there is usually no discount for buying round trip so if you find one of your dates on a great sale buy it and wait to buy the 2nd half. I've done this often and sometimes it takes a while for both fares to be at a good rate.

Southwest Bags Fly Free

On Southwest, each traveler can check two bags for free, bring a carry-on bag and one personal item.

Each airline is different, so be sure to review the policies on each airline website.

Thank you guys sooo much! So what your saying is if i buy 2-1way tickets ((1 to go there & 1 to come back)) it might be cheaper then just buying 1 round trip ticket???

Yes, it could be, because the airline sometimes runs specials. Of course, it's a gamble that the flight that you want to go down in price will go down.

1. The wanna get away fares are going to be the cheapest flights. While you can cancel them, you will get a credit, not a refund. The other two are fully refundable, with perks....early boarding, a free cocktail.
2. You are allowed one carryon bag that will go in the overhead bin compartment. This can be a fairly large bag..check the site for measurements. Then each person also gets a bag that will fit beneath the seat, at their feet. This is their personal item.
3. As long as you end up in the A or B boarding group, you'll be fine. Even those in the early C group can find two seats together.
4. Keep an eye on SWs site....or someone will come along and post it here.

Sometimes, but not generally. I haven't found any benefit to booking either way. It's six of one, half dozen of another.

Booking airfare is very easy. Especially online. You'll do just fine.
