Animals are prevalent in the area, field mice, snakes, rabbits and so forth. It would not be unheard of for one to get in, get lost or caught, and die there. No matter how "deluxe" a property is, things will happen. And again, the guest was offered a solution. The unit would have to go out of service to remove the tub and the animal carcass. The guest knew it could NOT be repaired while they occupied the unit. How would a housekeeper know if the dryer wasn;t working, do you want the staff to take additional time to test them between each guest, delaying the check-in times for all guests? And they DID replace the dryer immediately once the guest informed them it wasn't working. You may be surprised how much abuse hotels and timeshares receive from their own members as well as cash guests. At OKW, studio guests can see into the one bedroom living room from the balcony if the shades are not closed, Once while I was in a studio I saw a grandmother and grandchild jumping up and down on the couches in the living room. The pets the OP saw were not randomly roaming, they were with their owners. And again, even though the OP says that MS said that the pets were not there from people relocating from the campgrounds...how honestly, would MS...who is not even onsite, know? With the norrmal high occupancy of DVC, problems will arise. It is impossible to have someone test every outlet and every appliance between guests. Unless guests report issues, how would engineering know there is a problem?Missing the point …. These are advertised as ‘deluxe’ accomodations … animals rotting inside the walls doesn’t fit that description … nor does non working outlets, broken appliances or roaming house pets … Disney needs to pick their game up period
While the problems should NOT have happened, the OP did make the choice to stay in the unit and live with the issues rather than relocate. Most people would've relocated and let engineering fix the problems in an unoccupied unit.
As a landlord myself, you'd be surprised at the problems even long term tenants don't report, and that cost more money by waiting for when they move out, also delaying the abilty to have new tenants move in.
