Never done MK rope drop...help?

We had never done rope drop at MK and I know it has moved/ changed recently. Can you guys explain it a little to me. And how does the time work. Thought I read something about it actually opening earlier? Help

Main Street opens around 8 and you can get in up to the hub ( castle ) where they will hold you. until the welcome show is over ( it happens on the castle stage and then you go. What ever land you want to go to ( 7DMT)is where you need to line up so if fantasyland is where you are headed first then this is the bridge you should be closest too.

As PP said, MK will open around 8 am (perhaps even a few minutes earlier), and all guests are allowed onto Main St. The phrase "rope drop" actually makes sense again. As you get to the end of Main St. you will see actual ropes across the entrances into the various lands. Position yourself at your rope of choice and when it "drops," you will be let into the land you have chosen.

The opening show will be at 8:55 a.m. regardless of whether there is an early EMH or not. If there is an early EMH, MK will open a few minutes earlier than 8 am, and you will be scanned to see if you are eligible for EMH and then let into Fantasyland or Tomorrowland (the only lands open during EMH). If you are staying offsite and ineligible, you will be held on Main St. until regular opening at 9 am.
