Never done Hoop De Doo...! Any advice?

When we went to HDDR we used out TS credits and payed OOP for a meal (the day we went to BB we just payed for counter service pizza) and then paid for the BOMA breakfast ($16.99/each). I think the total for the 2 meals for one person was around $30 which is much cheaper than the ticket for HDDR.Breakfast is usually the worst deal to use a TS credit for as it is usually the cheapest and doesn't include desserts anyway so we always pay OOP for breakfasts and save our TS for stuff like HDDR...which is a blast by the way.

love the show, we go every trip,(dd5) corny yet sooooooo fun!! Definately GO!
(picnic style food, not gourmet by any means, but yummy):woohoo:

My advice; have plenty of travel time
see above

Its been a few years since we went to the HDDR, It is listed here (hope this isn't an outdated link) hope they still give the discount. Guess you will have to ask when you call. Let us know tomorrow how you make out.

Is there a discount? :confused3 The way I read it is that you can use your rewards card there...I'd love to know if there was a discount though, I just made an ADR last night for our May trip and would love to save some $$$!

Is there a bus that goes from Disney Hollywood Studios to the show area at Fort Wilderness? I think I'd rather take one direct bus, than take a bus to MK and the ferry.

If you are using Disney Transportation, START EARLY! It took us over 1 1/2 hours last time we went from the Beach Club to HDDR. We showed up 1/2 hour late and missed half the show. What we saw of the show was great, and they were very nice and made sure we got all of the food.

This is so true! We were just going from the Poly to HDDR and we left an hour before the show. You never know what can happen and during our trip, one of the bigger boats was not working and the line to the boats was very long. We just about made it. We really enjoyed the show and we all had a blast.

Yea, may only be the rewards money earned that you can use off of rewards card now. Rewards card and the card before it (disney club card was it called ?I don't remember) they had more discounts, in the late 1990's and early 2000's. The last show we did was the Luau and used 2 TS each. Guess it depends what 2 TS meals you would get to replace them if you would get a better deal.

Not a direct one, if there was, it would be the first thing suggested. There is a bus that will get you to fort wilderness, but then you have to take the internal fort wilderness bus to get to the 'back' of the property where the HDDR is. The HDDR is just off the water, hence why so many suggest taking the boat.

Can anyone tell me if it is toddler friendly? I'm sure the baby will be no problem and sleep through the entire thing but I'm not sure how the 2 and 4 year old will do. It sounds like my older ones will love it as they are big on corny jokes:thumbsup2 .

One more question for y'all...

What is the best way to get from the Poly to HDDR? I've never been to either property so I am not familiar with the layouts of each. But from reading this thread it sounds like HDDR is at the back of the property so it would require an extra bus once you get to FW. Should we take the boat across to MK and then another boat back to HDDR? Sounds like it might be nice to be out on the water on a late evening in August.:sail:

Any expert help is appreciated. :worship:

We are going to HDDR on our first night! We don't do a park on our arrival day. We just explore the resort and usually DTD. We have the 7:15 reservations. We are staying at WL and if I understand what I have read, we can take a boat from WL to FW. If we go down and the lines are too long, we'll just grab our car and shoot over there. DH went a couple of times to this when he was our DD and DS ages now. He says it is classic! I can't wait. I plan on being just as silly as I can. No one there knows me! :goodvibes

Great info!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know... I have boked the last show on the dining plan. I thought I read for the last show you could be seated in cat. 1, but the CM told me only 2 or 3. So we are in 2. Is that true? or should I call back and see if I can still get into Cat. 1 seating.

I am staying at the CR and they run a boat straight to FW...you might cut down your time going to MK and taking the boat..but on the return take the boat to the CR and the Poly is 2 stops from the CR. I hope that helps ;)

This is the best advice I can give from the Poly:

going head to MK, take the boat to FW. Allow your self plently of time to travel.

coming back take the boat to the CR, then head up and get on the monorail back. The line for MK is always awful after the show.

I've taken my nephew when he was 2, 3, 5, and 9. He enjoyed it all the times. We usually pay OOP though and sit in first tier.
