We are debating doing Hoop De Doo.....my kids are 13, 9 and 6...are we are big fans of corny humor!!!! I am on the dining plan....so I am wondering if I should book it using our 2 table sevice credits...or if I should pay out of pocket. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

We did the Hoop Dee Doo a couple of years ago, and my kids really enjoyed it. They still talk about it.

The only thing I regretted was doing the late show because my girls were getting tired. So, we're going to do it again in June but this time we're doing the 5pm show!

I would recommend it!:goodvibes We thought the food was pretty good too!

HDDR is great the kid will love it. If you have the Disney rewards card you could get a discount then use the TS for 2 other meals.

We've done it two years in a row and loved it both times. We had the dining plan both times and I used my credits both times. If it were me, I'd use the table service credits and pay out of pocket for another meal that didn't cost as much.

The first time, we did the 7:00 something show and the last time we did the 9:00 somthing show.

The seating at the 7:00 show was PACKED. At the 9:00 show, the theater was about 1/3 full. That was during June too!

We found the food to be good and above par. We love corny humor so the show was right up our alley.

Your kids will like it when they give them the washboard to play with their spoons. At one point, everybody will have their red napkins waving in the air above their heads.

I think you and your family would enjoy it . i say it is worth the money you pay. i would pay cash for it not to use to credits from the dining plan

We loved it. The food was good too. I agree with the poster that said use the TS. Also, if you skip a TS on the first night and just use a CS, you will have an extra TS, especially if you are not using a TS on the last night. We ate at Wolfgang Pucks at DTD which is a counter service that is more like a TS!!! You can be creative and juggle and still use two TS's for HDDR!

This is almost exactly what we did. We didn't use our TS credit on our arrival day but, instead, bought a counter service meal (at our resort) out of our pockets. We combined that TS credit with the one we would have used on our Hoop Dee Doo Review night so that we could see the show.

bring bug spray. the mosquitos were bad outside when we were waiting to get in. the show was great! enjoy!

HDDR is awesome. The show is great and the food is good, too! I would say that it doesn't really matter wheter you pay out-of-pocket or if you use DDP. it depends on what you would use the other credit for.:cool2:

If you are using Disney Transportation, START EARLY! It took us over 1 1/2 hours last time we went from the Beach Club to HDDR. We showed up 1/2 hour late and missed half the show. What we saw of the show was great, and they were very nice and made sure we got all of the food.

Can you give more info on this discount? I'm booking HDDR tomorrow and have the Disney Visa Rewards card, but can't find anything about an HDDR discount on that site. Is it still in effect?

Thanks,

How did you go? Or your timing was just the absolute worst it could be.
I mean, bus to MK, boat to Ft W.? What caused the delay?

Our trip from the CBR took less than an hour. We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped on the FW/WL boat. I think now there is a boat that goes directly to FW.

That's what we did and it works out perfect. The boat ride is really nice at night too!

We took the bus from BC to DD and then to FW where we had to catch the internal bus to get to HDDR. It was pouring rain the whole time and when the bus pulled into Typhoon Lagoon, there were masses of people exiting the park by bus and car. It also took the bus 30 minutes to arrive at BC.

We both called for directions and asked two bus drivers who stopped at BC before the DD bus did. We learned not to listen to the "Disney Directions" but to follow the advice given here. Next time it is BC to MK and then the boat to FW for us!

Am I the only one that didn't care for the show?

I thought the food was good southern food (nothing gourmet). Especially liked the salad and cornbread. The chicken and potatoes was good. The ribs were good too and the desert (strawberry shortcake was also good). It was only two of us and they brought out a ton of food for our table, so I was wondering where the rest of the food went too that we didn't finish

Beer wasn't filled up as often as I would have liked. :rotfl:

As for the show, there was really no plot or even a story that I could follow. Four performers and no costume changes at all. A few props. The waiters and waitresses were part of the show as well. Overall I found the show to be a bit corny and a bit strange.

Seeing this once is good enough for me. I would probably attend the Luau show at the Polynesian next time we are at Disney. Category 3 seating was fine for us. I'm not sure if I would want to be up closer.

For transportation -- Best bet is to take the ferry from the Magic Kingdom. My daughter had problems with the buses at FW.

Just wondering if you booked HDDR and if you can still get the Disney rewards Discount. I would really like this Sept , to pay for HDDR and save the 2TS for for say a Boma for breakfast and Le Cellier for dinner. That I think would be good reason to pay OOP for HDDR and get those 2 in return?
