We have never cruised before but thought maybe next year it would be a nice change of pace from the parks. We are a party of 7- 2children( ages 9 and 12)and 5 adults. Is there a stateroom that would accomodate us all or do we need adjoining rooms?

Thanks!

There are a total of four rooms on the entire ship. They are also the most expensive and have to be booked a year or more in advance. You might be better with two or more connecting rooms.

Generally most cabins on the DCL ships accommodate 4 guests. To accommodate more than 4 you would need Categories 1-4 and for 7 you'd need a Category 1 (or maybe 2), which can be big bucks (but I hear they are great)!

Many people in your situation (us included) book adjoining cabins in a lower category. Category 10 cabins are inside cabins and have no windows. Categories 8 & 9 are outside cabins with large (or in some cases 2 smaller) portholes. Categories 5-7 are outside cabins with verandahs, however Category 7 does not offer adjoining cabins.

In most cases it will be far cheaper to book 2 adjoining cabins than one Category 1 or 2 suite.

Have fun planning.

Just a thought....You didn't mention how the 7 of you are related, but you lose LOTS of privacy with connecting rooms - even with the door closed. You can hear even the smallest noises. We did this once, with our cousins (a married couple) in the next room, but never again!!! We still laugh about it, but too much $$ is at stake to not have ideal accommodations. Think about how you would divide the group up, and then what would be the ideal.
