Never challenge a DISer to find a deal--a Nov/Dec PTR 11/26: Today's the day!!!

They also have the build your own lightsaber in DTD. I think it's at Once Upon a Toy but I can't remember for sure. DS did it last time we were there.

I'm sorry I totally disappeared. I've just got time for a quick post today. Here's what I used the A to Z for. Even though this is a vacation, I would like both of the boys to gain a little something out of the trip from an education standpoint. Plus, I really think having a memory book of special family vacation is one of the greatest things ever. Since Liam is 4, his book will focus more on drawing and writing a word or two with models from Mom and Dad.

Doug is a bit older and does a lot more writing, so I wanted him to think and write more each day.

The basic outlines were adapted from a lot of different Disney journals I had found on the web. I then added my own twist on them. I cannot wait to receive them in the mail and then look through them once we are home and they are filled out!

I love that!! I am totally stealing some of your ideas. B and C are too young but Abby would love to do one!

I think that it is great that you found a way to make their Disney trip educational! That's awesome! :thumbsup2

Your journals are wonderful! What a great keepsake for later. :goodvibes

MOP! Your journals are amazing! :worship: Seriously, awesome, creative, and a very, VERY clever way to make your boys use their brains in a fun way. I LOVE IT! And what a very cool keepsake for later in life. You are seriously one smart Momma!

Nice job, Mop!
The boys are going to have fun with those.
You know I am going to ask to see at least one entry from each after they have written in them. ;) I love seeing kids' writings and drawings.

Steal away! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery in my book.

Thank you! Hopefully they will see it as fun to do too!

I am most excited about the keepsake aspect honestly. When I was 7, my grandparents pulled a cousin and I out of school for a mnth and we traveled through Colonial America in their Airstream (Can you imagine a school's reaction to that now???) My grandmother was a retired teacher and homeschooled us for the length of the trip. She made us keep a daily log of our trip. I love reading my log. It's so funny to read what I thought was important to write about and it really gives me a chance to get reacquainted with the 7 year old me. I am awful about keeping a daily journal, but it is something I love when I travel.

Aw thanks Brook. I find it much easier to make time for things like that than cleaning my house. LOL!

You better believe I will! Maybe I'll include Doug's thoughts on the trip on each day of my TR!

Today's the day!!!

I am sorry I've been so neglectful of this TR over the past two months. I do plan to write a TR and be slightly more timely with my updates. Since today is leaving day, and I do know there are a few people who still pop in here now and then I thought I'd give you a mini recap of the last couple of months and our full trip itinerary, so if you need so magic, you can close your eyes and picture yourself with us!

I'll also be doing some updating via FB as we go along, so if we are friends you can have even more Disney magic over the next week or so.

For Halloween, the boys dressed up as Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb. It took many hours of studying haggling and sewing to make the perfect costumes in their mind. People who knew the show were very impressed and people who did not thought these boys had a very kooky mother! :upsidedow

Ryan ran a half marathon at the beginning of November and I made shirts for the kids to wear to support their daddy!

I made a few custom outfits for Aileen to wear on the trip.

The rest of the family will have matching tshirts that go with this outfit. You'll have to wait for the TR to see all of those though ;)
