My husband really wants to go for 1/2 days on our next trip to WDW. He has been before~ late 80's early 90's, DD, DS & I have never been. Our kids will be 7 (DS) and 10 (DD) if we get to go this November/December. One main concern I have is will there be enough for DS to do to make it worth it, he is 45 inches now and not a very fast grower if he hits 47 inches by then I would be very surprised. What kind of rides do they have for little kids? Will they be boring for DD, are there height limits (she is very tall for her age, already 54inches and a fast grower)? Do they do a ride swap like in WDW for the things DS can't go on? We would not be staying on property at USO (or WDW for that matter) are the special passes you can buy worth it to get on more? Do you think we would need 1 day or 2? We will most likely be there Nov 25-Dec 2, is there any thing special going on then like Christmas stuff?
TIA

Welcome!

There are plenty of things for your entire family to do for one or two days. No danger of anyone getting bored!

At that time of year, you should get there at opening with a plan of what rides to do first, and you probably won't need to buy the Express Passes (however, if you get there and it is too crowded for you, you can always buy them at the park if they haven't sold out).

You can do "child swaps" at any of the big rides with height requirements.

They do have Christmas decorations at that time of year, especially at IOA with their Grinchmas theme. They might be doing the Macy's parade at that time, too.

Check out the universal website for basic info about the rides, and as more specific questions come up, just post them here!

like the proud new yorker before me posted, check out universal's website.
there is a section for the younger set of things and places they can go and do.

universal opened i thought 1990 so many changes have happened since then, namely another park IOA.

go and have fun, you will have a fantastic time

we did the wdw/uo vacation for the first time when our son was 5. we made the mistake of going to uo first(thinking that wdw would be his favorite and saving it for last). uo was far and away his favorite. he couldn't ride the big coasters because of size, but everything else he was able to do. now 5 yrs later, we went again at age 10, uo is still his favorite. not bashing wdw or overhyping uo at all. that's just been his experience

Bump...anyone else with information for us, hubby seems pretty determined to go.

i can't think of the name of the thread in this forum but there is one that lists help for newbies. i think it has about 3 pages now.

if i can remember how to show the link i will.
be patient with me, i am totally blonde on these things.

We went last August when our DS was 7 and DD was 10, and they loved it so much they never want to go back to Disney! DS was just 48" and there was nothing that he wanted to go on that he couldn't. You kids will love it.
