DH and I will be visiting WDW from July 14-24. We have considered going to US and IOA for a few days. Here are my questions.

1. Will it be so packed that we won't be able to get anything done? I would consider staying in a Universal Hotel for maybe the first two nights to have FOTL if it's necessary but I'd really rather not switch ressies at this point.

2. Are there single rider lines? My DH is scared of heights and doens't ride roller coasters or thrill rides so it will just be me.

TIA!

Sorry - one more question.

Is it super important to be at a park at opening like it is at WDW?

Also, do I need to make a PS type reservation to eat?

To me its worth the on-site stay for the fotl, plus its less hassle being right there and being able to come and go at your leisure. You can pick when to go ride and when to relax,You're literally 5 min. walk from HRH to US or we like the water taxi.City Walk always has something to do if your not in a park mood.Ibelieve Hulk,Jurrassic Park and DD have single lines for sure and I believe many others. You might want to hit the park early in July even with fotl but except Spiderman and Mummy you prolly won't need to,maybe Hulk.Evening is good as well.We never use PS ,usually eat at City Walk, but with Mythos it might be a good idea.

Think you can add Mummy (not 100% sure, but 95% sure) and MIB to the list of single rider lines.
In my opinion, FOTL is not necessary but it is good to have.
As long as you get there at opening without FOTL, you would be good to go, otherwise if you get FOTL, you could take your time, show up around 11am, etc.

You can also buy the Express Pass Plus which is roughly $35/per person per park instead. But then again if it's not busy, you won't need the EP Plus.

At IOA most of the rides have single lines. Dueling Dragons does not have a single line and Hulk and JPRA have the lines open when the wait is over an hour.

At the Studios MIB and ROTM have lines that are always open.
