Never been on a plane.....

Hi everyone,
We have never been on a plane before. We are going to Disney in April and we are going to fly. I don't know if it is better to wait to see if you can get better rates later or book now. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. I have never had to do this waiting game and I am nervous. There are 2 adults and 2 children. Thanks for your help

Not sure which city you will be flying out of, but if it is the east coast (Halifax), they have some of their best fares on now for April. ( I have been watching them all year )

We can fly out of Buffalo or Toronto. Buffalo is closer to us. Just very nervous about do the waiting game. Do the prices go up as the day gets closer?

Westjet and AC have a sale on right now...........50% off..........that's the lowest I've seen for several months now. if you can afford it now, book it. The deadline is Dec 22nd for this promotion.

As far as waiting until closer to your departure date..........your guess would be as good as mine.......but for me personally, $2000 for 4 of us to fly from Moncton to Orlando is a good deal

Just booked our airfare for end of January and have been playing the waiting game for a couple of months! We booked out of Buffalo, 6 of us Air Tran for $960.00 return! Had to pay for pre seat selection so it came to 1032.00, and then of course we will have to pay for baggage, but we only take 4 bags, so that's 60.00 each way! so add another $120.00. so $1152.00, with exchange it comes to $1420.00 CAN. Now 5 days ago I could have booked with Air Transat out of Perason for 1650.00, and by the time I discussed with my hubby the next day and went to book, low and behold no seats left! I defintley would have payed the extra 200.00 to fly closer to home! Oh well moral of the story your damed if you do and damed if you don't, tommorrow my Air Tran flights could go down even more, if you find a good deal grab it!

We've been playing the waiting game all year. When AC just announced their 50% off sale, we jumped on it and I just booked this afternoon. We are flying from Edmonton, AB. for the 4 of us the total was $2400.00. Not too bad considering I was looking at $4000.00 in August. We are going next Sept. Fly out on the 1st at 1:05 am.... a red eye, and land in Toronto at 6 am. Then fly out of toronto and arrive in Orlando for around 12:39 pm. Not bad connection, and we will be flying all Canadian carrier, so at least we will have access to in-flight entertainment this time!!! (A DEFINITE need with 2 teen boys). Coming home we will be in Edmonton by 8 p.m. so that's a good thing, much better than our last return at midnight (Jan. 2008). I was nervous to book the flights, but I have learned if you wait too long, the price you pay is usually worse!!!

hope you get a good deal, one of the seach engines I use for flights is call kayak, they do not sell , just seach. I booked our flights out of Detroit last May for 130.00 CA. One of the things I like to do is book direct with the airline, I feel I can then Call the airline direct if I need more information, Buffalo is hard to get Direct flight if you have young children. We traveled with a 9,3 and 2 year old. One other thing we found useful was earplugs that help with cabin pressure,the children did not complain of their ears, one young passenger was crying when we deboarded the plane.
