My wife surprised me with a disney vacation from 12/11 - 12/15. We have never been during the holidays, and we are so excited to do so.

We are doing MVMCP and seeing the lights at DHS. Please, please share with me any things we must see or do during the holidays at Disney World, as this may be the only holiday Disney trip we ever take.

Thanks so much!

This is my first holiday trip also. Along with what you have mentioned, I plan to tour the deluxe resorts to see the decorations - esp, the Grand floridian and it's Giant gingerbread house. Wandering around World showcase & Downtown Disney for some shopping :thumbsup2

THIS THIS and THIS lol

The Gingerbread house is beyond cool

You might want to try to see a Candlelight Processional in EPCOT. A famous narrator reads the Christmas story from the Bible while a large choir and orchestra sing/play Christmas music.

I've never been, but I hear it's very touching.

Leaving for our first Christmas trip in a few days as well. Our list includes MVMCP, Osborne lights at DHS, deluxe resorts hopping to see the decor, and general park time for our favorite rides. We're skipping the CP at Epcot since DS3 probably wouldn't make it through the event, and skipping AK altogether (just there in May).

All of the above plus:

The different countries in Epcot have storytellers. They tell the tales of Christmas/ Holidays in their countries. They are fun to listen to and they are dressed in their holiday costumes.

The Disney characters will be dressed in their holiday best. We just happened upon Winnie the Pooh last time and got a great pick with DD and Pooh dressed for Christmas.

The trees and decorations in the parks are really something. Be sure and take your time to take these in.

I know people have mentioned the resorts, but be sure not to miss any of the Deluxe resorts. They have some beautiful displays.

SORRY FOR THE REPOST - I DON'T KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED

Yes, it is very heartwarming and moving. We actually listened last Sun. and Fri night. I bought the CD as well! The various 'Christmas around the World' are interesting to listen to as well at WS! Italy was very surprising to me!

The Osborne Lights and MVMCP are great as well. We didn't visit WL but it's supposed to be really nice. We had only been one other time during the Christmas season (2000) and I did find the decorations less now than for that previous trip.
