Hello all! Just checking to see if there are Nevada DVC Owners that want to connect. I couldn't find one for Nevada, so thought that I would start one.

We are in NW Las Vegas and have a contract at Saratoga Springs and another at Old Key West. We are a family of 4 with a 14 y/o son and a 10 y/o daughter. We have been going to WDW since 2012, pretty much every year but only became DVC Members in 2020 after years of my wife telling me we should do it.

I guess so based on your Home Resorts. Can never have too many points or home resorts :D. I'm currently trying to resist the urge to buy more contracts. It's getting harder and harder with the prices of resale contracts dropping.

Any interest in getting into some West Coast DVC action? VGC or the new VDH? WDW DVC stuff is new to us, but we are fans and plan to do longer stays at WDW every year or two (or three) and more frequent short trips to Disneyland. Also plan on getting a trip into Aulani every few years. I'm about maxed out in the number of points we can afford but OKW-E vs. VDH or more CCV points... The prices right now are great for resale.

Calling @VegasDisneyMom to join the thread :) She is active in a lot of the other threads I participate in.

Checking in! Thanks for tagging me @NVDISFamily. I've been a member since last year. I've never been to WDW, but plan to one day. Disneyland is just so much closer to Vegas and I love how close the parks are to each other. I love VGC, but am patiently (not really) waiting for the VDH points charts to drop before I decide if I want to make the plunge or get more VGC instead. My husband isn't interested in VDH, but I really want some unrestricted points at a resort I am likely to stay at.

Yea I think for us on the West Coast we are a lot more sensitive to the need/power of direct points as it's very likely 2/3 of the inventory at Disneyland will be locked down as soon as VDH opens up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will back away from the restrictions :)

As a side note, anyone going to be at the park (Disneyland) on the 19th to see the new DVC lounge?

I am not worthy of such privilege 😭 I’m resale. Hoping to get blue card benefits with VDH. I’ll be at the parks in June, though. Will you be there on the 19th?

I haven't really considered acquiring any points on the west coast. We are originally from the east coast and prefer the expanse and bubble of WDW over DL. While we moved here almost 9 years ago, we have been to DL twice, but go to WDW almost every year. This year we'll be going back to WDW with a stop at Vero Beach. Plan on going to AUL in the near future though. Considering adding onto OKW-E for more options to book the 3-bedroom at the 11 month mark.

There’s some great prices on contracts right now. I know I’ve thought about a OKW-E contract.

Will you be there on the 19th?
Yea. We got very lucky and we are doing our welcome home stat at the Grand Cal that week. I'll be rope dropping the lounge on the 19th to check it out.

I'd try and stalk a VGC room if you can and give it a try. IMO a stay at the Grand Cal and Disneyland + California Adventure is peak Disney bubble plus it's just all there. I'll admit I'm a bit biased but I do love WDW too (heck I have a bit over 1000 points at WDW...).

The point chart for the 3-bedroom stalks me in my dreams. I feel like I'm burning money by not buying a contract there. There is a 360 point contract for a OKW-E that I'm tempted to try and ninja for 85 or so a point... But I'm also afraid of my dues bill next year :)

I have a feeling you’re going to love the grand villas at VDH 😁. I need to stay a couple nights there at least once. I’m hoping the points charts will be nice to us.

Heck yea! I’m already looking forward to try and ninja one with my WDW points in the coming years if we decide to not buy there :)

Yeah, the dues sneak up on you. That's the major thing keeping me from buying more right now.

N. Nevada here. Owned DVC since 2008 with many great trips along the way. In addition to WDW points I'm a Founding member at VGC with a pretty picture that hangs on the wall to prove it. :)
Amazing! I wish I could turn back the time and have those price per points in my favor without having to relive my college days.

So... my Silver State amigos. Anyone else get or tempted to get some VDH points?

I’m definitely tempted. I’m waiting till the end of May to get a small contract. Still undecided if we should do 50 or 75, but definitely will be getting something. Congrats on your new contract!

I'm struggling to justify it right now. I have never planned a DL trip at 11-months out. In the past, I think that the longest we planned ahead was about 2 months. Do you guys plan that far in advance? Congrats on the new contract.

Before DVC, I would only plan a few months in advance. After DVC, I plan over a year in advance so I can figure out my 11-month booking window :)
