We will be staying at OKW next month and are thinking about using netgrocer but also have the oppty to make a grocery stop thru our car service. Does netgrocer offer better prices despite the shipping? Or will we find a better value for our money by shopping at the local supermarket?

You will probably get a better value from your grocery stop, and net grocer does not have perishibles. That said we used net grocer pre DVC while staying at CBR and it was great. I ordered diapers and juice boxes and other breakfast snacks. It was so nice to have everything there at checkin, and I didn't have to pack all that baby stuff and load it in the car. We were pleased with the service and I think there prices were very fair.

I use netgrocer for most items ... items are slightly more expensive, but when the 4 of us hit the grocery store we spend way too much money. Cheaper if I do the ordering ahead of time, then a quick stop at a convenience store and we're set!

It was just the opposite for us. We purchased what we thought we'd need via Netgrocer. Then when we saw the packages we realized we'd bought way more than we should have. If we had been loading up an actual shopping cart instead of a "virtual" one we'd never have bought that much stuff; it would have been obvious that we were going overboard

It was pretty much of a wash, price-wise, I think. But it took a coule of hours of clicking to do all of our shopping. Those weren't vacation hours - which are worth a lot more - but it was time consuming. Then we had to go to an Orlando store anyway, for meat, beer/wine, milk, etc.

It just didn't seem to have much of an upside, to be honest with you. It was a few trips ago that we tried Netgrocer, and we haven't been tempted to use them again. But I know that others have been happy.

I've never used Netgrocer-- we always use the grocery stop with our towncar service. However, it does seem like it would be handy to use in conjunction with your grocery stop, i.e. use the grocery stop for refrigerated stuff and get the rest through Netgrocer. That 30 minutes in the store goes FAST, and it's hard to be prepared because you don't know where stuff is, etc. I might try it that way next time.

It kind of depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend.

We used to use Netgrocer at home for baby formula and I loved it.

If you are going for the fruit snacks, granola bars, pop tarts, microwave popcorn, a box of cereal, a case of pop, some spagetti noodles and a jar of sauce - and are willing to buy milk and a frozen pizza from the Disney gift shop, Netgrocer will save you time (and time is money at Disney), but probably be a wash or a little more expensive than a grocery stop. If you are planning of real meals, Netgrocer doesn't sell enough to make it worth the bother - no meats (other than canned stuff), no fresh produce, etc.

We order all our groceries at home on line and have them delivered. And the point made above is right. Make a list before you go on line. Its easy to click your way into too much - and easy to forget what you want because you aren't looking at it.

We like the 30 minute grocery stop provided by Florida Town Car.

I have a list divided between all 4 members of our family- along with coupons for some items. DH was impressed with the coupon savings! One person goes to produce, one to the deli, one to dairy aisle, and youngest gets cereal. Whoever gets done first goes to cereal aisle to help(young teenager) and we all meet at the front of the store for check-out.
We are done and checked out within 30 minutes.

I realize this won't work with young children, but with older kids it's simple.

Being organized is the key.
