Netflix reviews

You need to learn to "work the system" to get the maximum use out of it. They don't ship on Saturdays, so what I did on the 2-time plan was:

Receive New Movie: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Ship Movie Back: Wed Morn, Thur Morn, Sat Morn, Mon Morn
A couple of notes. First, they have started shipping on Saturdays in some areas, or at least are trialing it. Second, we tried to come up with an optimal protocol as well (though for the three at at time plan), but actually nothing seems to maximize the number of discs as much as watching them the day they arrive and sending them back the next morning before the mail is picked up. :) Also, even with the three at a time plan, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor day mess with the system.

For the most part I like Netflix, we've had it for about a year. But I get "throttled" alot. Even just a few weeks ago, they had received my movies and my #1 movie (released that day) said available and I didn't get it. I wasn't happy!

Honestly, even if I only end up with 2-3 movies in a month, I think a plan would save me money. $20 or so for a DVD that I end up only watching once or $14 for 2+ DVDs that I end up watching once...

Thank you everyone for your reviews and opinions. I am one of those who does a ton of research before buying ANYTHING (video games, electronics, ect) so I do appreciate your help!

The really great thing about Netflix is you're not committing anything other than the next month. You can hold your account if you are leaving town, or too busy to watch movies, or just need some extra money in the bank for a few months. You can cancel anytime. There is no contract so really no risk involved.

we've had it for about 6 months now..we have the unlimited 1 out at a time plan and it works great for us...really quick turnover as there is a distribution center in our immeadiate area and it's totally worth it just for the HUGE selection of of stuff you can watch instantly online...We haven't rented 1 movie elsewhere since we got it! Definitely a really great investment monthly for us!

LOVE Netflix. Although we aren't really using the DVD portion now. Currently we are watching it through our XBox360. I watch The Office every night, we just finished Red Dwarf, and are now hooked on Dr Who, not to mention exciting movies from my childhood like Watermelon Man. LOVE it.:thumbsup2

I have been a member for almost a year now, and LOVE it. I am on the 8.99 plan which is actually with tax, 9.95 a month. I average about 3-4 movies a month, depends on when I watch the movie. I try and get it for the weekend, like Thursday and send it back Monday.:thumbsup2

I love Netflix! They have the biggest selection of movies that you'll find anywhere. And it's really cheap. I love not having late fees too. Their feature that lets you list movies you want to rent is really awesome; when they recieve your movies back they just send out the next ones on your list. They're great!

Currently we are watching it through our XBox360.

Does using the 360 require the gold membership? I can't seem to remember!

We LOVE Netflix. We have the two at a time plan, but we are addicted to the Instant Viewing! DD and I just spent two weeks watching Jericho and various movies. DH watches regular tv and I'll download a Netflix movie on the computer. Great!
