netflix on bluray?

Ok so we are in the market for a bluray player. Just got a new tv (not internet ready) and would like to purchace a bluray player to go with it. We do have netflix which we currently stream with our wii but the wii is now in the family room with the old tv. So we need a way to stream netflix on the new tv. I know I could get a roku but is it worth it when I already have to get a bluray player? Aren't there some bluray players that play netflix?

Almost all of the Blu Ray players today have Netflix added, but make sure you do your homework before shopping because a few of the cheaper models do not have it.

Yes, it will have the Netflix logo right on the box.

We love ours and this is basically the only way we watch "TV" since we got rid of our satellite service. When you turn on the bluray, you just select the Netflix icon and your queue comes right up.

Make sure you buy one that is wireless ready not wireless capable. We have a Vizio that has Netflix, Vudu and Pandora built in. We love it!

You often pay a BIG premium for a player that has built in wi-fi reception. The "wireless capable" models can actually be a better deal, depending upon the cost of the external wireless adapter that needs to be added. My husband did the math on this and we saved about $60 on our Sony Blu Ray by going the wirless capable/adapter route instead of the wireless ready model.

Also, depending on your home internet setup, a wireless capable can be an even better deal if you have the ability to skip wireless entirely by running a network cable to the player (all internet capable blu rays have a network port in back) . Also, many experts say streaming (particularly of hi def material) is more reliable through a hard wired connection.

I have a Samsung blur-ray C6500 that is wireless ready and has Netflix, Pandora, Vudu, and other stuff that came with it. Paid $140 before the holidays from Best Buy. Been great so far!

We have a bluray player that streams netflix. It is a very common thing, most newer ones probably do.

The one thing you really need to watch for is how it connects to your network at home. Ours is like 3 feet from the router, so the wired connection isn't a problem. If your bluray player isn't going to be put close to your router, you are probably going to want one that is wireless. Some require you to buy a separate adapter to do wireless, or won't do wireless at all.

We went this route - after the second hard drive failed, we decided not to get another one. PS3s have serious HDD problems. When the HDD goes, you can't use it for anything.
