Nervous for Chefs. convince me to keep adr

Chefs is okay. The food has run the gamut from tasty to inedible. We used to love it. But, with the whole DDP/free dining thing, we've seen a real decline. Beyond that, the tables are so close together, one might as well be at a communal table, the noise level is unbearable at dinner and the waiters are unpredictable -- sometimes nice, sometimes brusque and unpleasant. The place is usually jam-packed for dinner and that, no doubt, adds to the employee negativity.

I recall once, before DDP, we walked in around 8:30 pm for dinner. We were among the only people in the restaurant. When the fireworks started, the waitress led our small boys to a table she had set up for them so they could see the fireworks. It was a lovely evening. Boy are those days gone!

I was a little nervous about going there too. We tried it last August & really enjoyed it. We would definitely go back. :goodvibes

Its all subjective - and sometimes you can have a bad meal. Also often the best memories have nothing to do with the actual food. Case in point Chefs.. a GREAT memory.
In Nov 09 we were able to score a 7ish ADR with DD 2.5. We were there early and they sat us right away in the glass room to the right- a gorgeous view. I have always wanted to sit there. We were the only ones in that area with a kid under 12. We bought her the kids burger and she loved it. She played some with the server - he was very sweet, she colored, played with her light up toy etc.. DH had some wine and we both really enjoyed our meals. It was a little slower but it was so nice and quiet. For being so good -we let her DEVOUR the entire slice of chocolate cake...and we have some of the best pics.
So if you like the menu- go for it. If you don't like it - its ok - go somewhere else next time.. you know?

Same thing with Nine Dragons... we ate there b/c it is very nostalgic for DH.
Food was ok - but our server was AWESOME. DD loved her, loved her "big girl" bowl of rice and chopsticks, loved her chopstick lesson... etc.
We were seated in an area with several large families of boys all like 10-15 yo and they were just going nuts. (We saw a food fight break out and get shut down.) At least 4 servers came over and spoke to DD. Our server told us it was just one of those "crazy nights."
So yes - not sure when I'll go back to Nine Dragons.. But I still must give it some love....
