Nervous and excited.

I am headed to the WDWCP in August. I am extremely EXCITED however, I am scared and nervous too. It's weird I live on my own now, and I am not dating, but i am afraid of being alone. I guess not just in Florida, in general. I know there will be people in FL. But I am still scared. Any comments or suggestions?

Congratulations on becoming part of the WDWCP.

You'll be fine. I think I would be a little apprehensive, too, about moving so far from home and family but you will make friends and be feeling at home in Florida before you know it.

Any time you're lonely, you can log onto the DIS - someone is ALWAYS here. You'll make friends in no time, I'm sure. The waiting and wondering will be worse - once you actually get there things will fall into place and you'll be just fine!

First, Congratulations ! What an honor to be selected. Just remember that there will be a lot of people who will also be starting the same time as you who will be feeling the same way. I'm sure you will make fast friends .

I did the International Program in 2000 - so I know *exactly* how you feel. I was 18, had never lived alone, let alone in another country!!!

You will have a fantastic time, but it's perfectly normal to be nervous/worried as well as excited, honest!

my daughter did the WDWCP twice..it was a truely fantastic experience, you won;t have time to be alone,,,, you'll meet people while waiting in line for your room assignment..and once you move in , when you're not working you'll be hanging out with other cast members..

just remember you are not alone. Parents and friends are a phone call away. Be sure to get a phone card if you don't have a cell phone.

And believe me, you'll be too tired to be lonely. And they'll be plenty of people to hang out with.

Hey guess what I found out today that one of my friends is moving to Ft. Lauderdale. I know it isn't exactly close to WDW but it's closer than Chicago. That makes me feel a little better.

DD has been working at WDW for 2.5 years, having started in the CP. I think you'll find a lot of people your age experiencing the same feelings as you. I think you'll have a great experience.

I was a nervous wreck before I left, however I was leaving my DH behind and didn't know how that would be for 4 months. Unfortunately, I was only able to stay for 45 days, because financially DH and I were having trouble paying bills in two places. I made a friend before I arrived online and we met for dinner the day I got there. It was GREAT having someone to hang out with just coming into something new. Alaina and I still talk today and that was 3 years ago. We don't talk much, but a hello every now and then.

I made some other GREAT friends while down there and was so happy I did. A previous poster was correct about once you get into your room and get everything situated, you won't have time to be alone. I don't think I spent any time alone the whole 45 days I was there and was great having so many friends to hang out with. 3 of them were in the very same apartment complex as me and that was great on the late nights of sitting up and chatting til 1 or 2 in the morning.

You'll be just fine...don't worry! If you have any other questions just PM me. I wasn't there long, but I think I can help. If not, I know the perfect person who can....ANGIEBELLE!! I met her 3 years ago before I went into the college program here on the DIS. She was coming out, right as I was going in. 3 years later, we still chat A LOT AND she is now a full-time employee with the Disney company!

YAY! I am back into excited mode. Oh how I wish I could just go down there now.

One more final to go today then I am off for two weeks. Woo-Hoo!

There are a few people I have been talking to that I will probably meet up with when I get there. Some of them are going in May and some in August like me. I am sooooooo excited I can't control my self.
