Nervous about the laundry situation..how's the Poly

Thanks & enjoy your trip!

I read somewhere that the Poly was open 24 hrs. Someone also mentioned not to forget your room key as its needed to get in. Enjoy your trip - its our first stay at the Poly as well.

I did laundry at Pop in December and it was nightmare. I was able to get 2 machines to wash but only 1 dryer and had to wait for another. I didn't get back to the room until after midnight and had to lug the hamper up 3 flights of stairs (elevator was on the other side of the building from our room).

I have since resolved that next time we go to WDW, we will get a room with a washer and dryer. We will even stay off-site to be able to afford this luxury but, to me, it will be 100% worth it!!!! It's such a hot and sticky place at any time of the year. Clothes get dirty quickly and you need to change frequently. Next time we will bring a few outfits each and wash every evening in our room. That's my resolutions and I'm sticking to it!!:)

Thanks for all the replies! We are staying 8 nights so I figured half way through I might do laundry. It would be mostly kids clothes unless DH or I have something really stained. When it was just DH and I, we never did laundry on vacation never thought of it. But w/3 young kids who are always messy & get food stains all over their shirts I figured I better do laundry.

Thanks for all the ideas - I guess getting up super early or going to bed super late is the way to go.

Timing is everything when doing the laundry. Don't do it on a rainy day because it seems that is when everyone does it. I suggest either very early in the morning which is what I always did because I'm not a good sleeper or later in the evening around 10:00 or 11:00 p.m.

The laundry room is open 24/7, just remember to bring your room key to open the door because you will need it, unless someone else is already in there to open the door for you.

If I can recall from my last visit there are 7 washers and maybe 7 or 8 dryers but I don't know if that has changed.

Thanks for all the tips! Anyone ever try Tide sink tablets to wash out clothes in the sink? I may bring more clothes to avoid laundry and maybe wash out those items that have to washed. I'm not worried about undies or socks - we have lots of those. Its just stained shirts of my DD4 & DD2 and of course sweaty stuff. Even with bibs DD2 gets messy messy messy!

The laundry rooms don't sound that bad - timing is the key!

I have used the laundrey room quite a few times at the Poly. I have never had to wait too long for a machine. Most times there are one or two machines available when I first get there. My only suggestion I can make is not to leave your laundrey unattended. I was next door in the game room with my children and came back 10 minutes late to take my laundrey out of the drier and found it thrown on the sorting table. I was okay with that it was dry but make sure you are check often and stay close.
