Nervous about ROFR

Just talked to the Timeshare store and they said our paperwork was submitted to Disney on 6/18. I have read several posts that have had their paperwork submitted after this date and they are already closed. They even had lower offers on their properties than we did 70/pt OKW 160+34 banked. We pay all fees and closing! I wonder why we are being held back when others are going forward. I just bought tickets for September too! Hope I don't have to rent points!

Hang in there! Sending pixie dust your way!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

The ROFR times can be the worst, and your deal sounds like it should pass. Good luck and let us know!

lillasmom said it all.. it is ruff for alot of people who are really looking forward to be DVC members..TRUST ME!! we know...

The best of luck and I look forward to saying...Welcome Home.

You may want to ask the broker to check with the seller unless they have a true inside sourse and can find out for certain. DVC has a habit of communicating with the member (seller) and the broker finding out sometime after, especially if they do buy it back.

In June our BWV resale was also delayed in the ROFR stage for some unknown reason, even though others passed quickly. It did go through eventually. Your patience is being tried, but I'll bet you will get good news soon.

Thanks for your help! It is so disconcerting when I know that people paying less than 70 a point are passing in less than two weeks! Just gotta hang in there! I am so anxious. Especially since I just bought our airline tickets for September 12! I will post when it happens so you all will know how long it takes!!!
Thanks again.

DVC only has 30 days to exercise ROFR, so you will know for sure very soon now. If you have not heard by Monday, I would guess that means they did not exercise their right to ROFR.

Good Luck and some pixie dust for you!!!

We were lucky on our resale purchase last month.
It took us 5 1/2 weeks total, from our offer to having the points in our DVC account.
OKW $73/pt, 150 (+ 150 banked)

I hope it comes through for you. We've not yet purchased a resale, but probably will in a few years. I've thought of going through DVC to spare the agony of waiting. Follish I guess.

We just passed ROFR and had the closing documents emailed from Timeshare Closing Services today !
It took us 7 weeks ! so you must find out soon. We were on $65/Point at Vero so you should have no trouble at $70.

Good Luck !!

I'm not sure that's quite true. When submitting for ROFR you must give them a closing date that is at least 30 days from submission. It says you must give them 30 days, not that they ONLY have 30 days. While the practicality may be the same, if you don't go ahead and close, I'm not sure anything would prevent DVC from acting at over 30 days.

What I really would like to know is why is the time so variable? I would think they would take the cases as they came in. Why on earth would they hold up one for 4 weeks and process others in 2 weeks. I would love to know what they actually do! Thanks for all your responses. The anticipation is killing me!

Ive done a few add-ons.... and sometimes the timeshare broker doesn't submit the paperwork exactly when they said they did.....

You know, got busy, what's one extra week?

But Disney only looks at these either once or twice a month, I can't remember which, from what I was told... so depending on your window, results can vary.

Also, some situation are more clear cut than others.

But don't worry, I haven't heard of any not going thru ROFR lately. Even an SSR went thru!

So pixie dust, and hang in there.

They actually meet every Wednesday if things haven't changed (or so I have been told) but I got the impression they didn't necessarily do all pending ROFR requests at each meeting.

We Passed ROFR today, August 23! It took Disney over a month but we made it! Can't wait to close now! I have no idea why we took so long but here we are!

Disney sure made you sweat it out but.....

:thewave:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
