Nervous about POR

We upgraded from POP to POR because we loved all the "extras" we had at POR when we were in the world 10/2008. We requested, and received, building 16 at that time - it was perfect (close to main building and south bus stop). I want to request a refurbished room in the Magnolia Building this time. I'm so nervous that we're going to have to walk 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee (DH will NOT be happy in the mornings ). How far and long of a walk is the furthest building to the food court?

Acadian House and Parterre Place are the furthest mansions from the main buildings. We were stuck in the latter on our last visit there. Wasn't happy (mobility issues). But to be fair it was less than a 10 min. walk to the food court. Fine in the morning. Not so great at the end of a very long day in the parks when you need that late evening snack. But the only alternative would be to pay for a preferred room.

Those walks for coffee along the river have to be some of my favorite moments. It is a good 10-15 minute walk from AB rooms. I guess it's all how you look at it.

There's also a coffee pot in the room. When we stayed in Acadia House I never thought the walk was bad. In fact we always walked the the South Depot before going to the parks in the morning.

We stayed in the Acadian House in 2008 and didn't find the walk long at all. 5-10 min TOPS.

If you did not book in a royal room, you will be in either Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace if your request is granted, as those are the only two mansion buildings not being converted to royal rooms. The buildings are next to each other and in the middle of the buildings is a bridge across the river, around the pool and over to the main building. 5-7 minute walk from either building. I have stayed in both buildings and prefer Magnolia Terrace just because I like the look better, but they are about equal distance from everything.

Ours too.... At the end of the day we just got off the bus at the main building and got our supplies, milk for bottles, late night snack, adult beverages etc.

We're in a garden view in Magnolia right now. It's about a five minute very pleasant walk to the main building and about a three minute walk to the East bus stop. Overall, an excellent location. We're really enjoying the refurbished rooms. Our room is 8755 and it right and the top of the central staircase (directly back from the gazebo). Then, you walk through the building to go out the back to the bus stop. Awesome!

You do not say when you are going or for how long but rather than worry about being far from the main building/food court, if it were me I would just upgrade to a preferred room. If you are booked in a Std room it would only be $25 more per night and even less if you are booked in either a GV or Water View.

The distance from the very back of AB is less than a 1/2 mile, for me about an 8 minute walk. I like that walk 1st thing in the morning, just a great way to start the day with the scenery and the river and we also have got off at the main building and just enjoyed the stroll back to the room
