We are staying at allstar movies in sept. and for the first time we are not getting a rental car. I was nervous about this at first but ive come to accept the idea of waiting 15 min for a bus with two anxious kids. Anyway, there ate 2 days when i am concerned about the whole transportation thing.
1. breakfast adr at crystal palace for 8:20am. how early do i need to have everyone at the bus stop and how often does the bus come at that time of day in case we miss it?
2. after a day at BB we want to go directly to chef mickey's for 5:35 adr. Will this be a direct bus ride and what time do you think we need to absolutely exit the park and wait for the bus.

I appreciate any info. thanks!

for your breakfast adr i should say be there around 7- 7.15 am and for the chef mickey i would say direct bus to the contempery

Welcome to the DIS boards!!
1. The buses start running by 6:30am!!! So, for an ADR at 8:20, inside MK, I would plan on being at the MK bus stop by 7:30. The early buses tend to run a bit less frequently than the buses running after 8am. A bus at 7:30 will get you to MK in good time for your ADR.

2. Take the bus to the CR/BLT. Be out at the bus by 4:30..just in case. If you get on a bus right away, you'll be at CR early, but that's better than worrying about being late.

I like to leave an hour to get from point A to point B.

I would suggest having a backup plan for BB to CR. In the event of a thunderstorm that cleans out the park between 3:30 and 4:30, the lines for the buses may be crazy long.

Let me offer some reassurance that in general, you won't have too many issues using WDW transporation, even if it takes longer than driving yourself, once you get the hang of it, you may find it to be a nice part of your overall vacation.

This is one of the things DH & I enjoy about WDW trips, NOT having to drive anywhere. We like NOT having to take turns being DD, not driving in heavy traffic after firework shows, and mostly not having to pay additional for a rental car. The buses are already airconditioned cold when we board & our family has some nice conversations waiting for and riding on the buses.

Others have different opinions and prefer to drive but for us, we feel the buses (boats & monorails) are pretty convenient :)

In 20 trips to WDW we have never rented a car. That suits our travel style for a variety of reasons and I would not consider renting a car unless something major changes. (I also take public transportation on business trips when possible.) There are those who would never do the trip without a car, however, so it's not a one-size-fits-all answer.

We are in the same situation except that we will have a car for a few days but mostly to go offsite. We do have an ADR at Boma so getting to it from POFQ without a car should be interesting.

If the buses take too long as I know they can, I plan to grab a taxi. I'd rather spend the extra if I need to.

BBB in MK? Why not just walk? It's literally about 10 minutes. the front of the park. It's not bad at all:)
