We are heading to WDW in January 2014, our Cast, My wonderful mom who is 70 , my sweet Daughter 24 and me ( no way am I telling my age :rolleyes1)
This is our no boys allowed trip.

We have never stay in a Value, we tried one time and did not even put our bags in the room, as it was awful, so we moved over to CBR. I know this is not the norm but... I am still nervous :worried: about pulling the trigger so to speak..:confused3

I am looking at booking AOA Lion King family suite. I think it make great sense for us for this trip, with 2 full bathrooms, and 3 beds. It just is a great fit.
Also when DD was little, one of her favorite movies was Lion King. We love the movie to this day. So the memory factor is included in this as well.

I have done my research but I just need a little bit more before I go all in. I also had DD take a look and she was all in right away.

So am I making the right choice.??? If you could share your pictures, Pleasssse. The ones on line are really super, but I want real pictures from Dis'er, I am booking by Friday so again Please any thought are welcomed.

Was taken on a tour of the Lion King Suites so took pics. I was very impressed with them, the bathrooms were more like deluxe bathrooms. The location is close to the central hub and main pool. If DD is a Lion King fan she will love the suites and all the decor outside the buildings! :thumbsup2

the AoA suites are NOT value -- consider them -- Moderate Lite -- We stayed at Finding Nemo last August for 9 days and it was amazing -- the small details are all there.

I do have to ask what Value resort you couldn't bear to stay in though -- i know it's value, but i have stayed in all 4 of them and they are all good.

We're hotel snobs everywhere but Disney. We love the Value resorts there. They are clean, well kept and the service is generally very good.

You again! Haha.

Well, put it this way, I was preaching the praises of AoA in your last post.

I went to finally book my own trip at AoA for December last night (was waiting around to get some more finances straight, against the better advice of those on this forum and my TA).

They were totally booked. No AoA for me in December. The wife and I are totally bummed, and wish we had a time machine to go back and book earlier.

As stated above, AoA is Value by name ONLY. It simply can not be compared to any of the All Stars, and its still several steps ahead of Pop. It's more like a moderate with deluxe qualities and a value price if you ask me.

I had a pin that gets free dining at the All Stars, so I booked at Music, and I am still going to call booking every single day between now and December to see if anyone cancels at AoA, even though it would mean losing my free dining. It's still totally worth it.

Book it! You'll love it! It is truly a fantastic value, and an outstanding resort in every aspect (other than distance from parks). I can only praise it more after what transpired last night. You don't know what you got till it's gone, as they say.

It was POP, I know that I will go up in flames with so many people who love it. I will give a quick review/ detail, Check in was great, loved the lobby area, and gift shop, peak into the food court everything look fun, and bright, and clean , the court yards look amazing I was excited to check everything out... then.... We went to the room, I could not even get the door open all the way it hit the bed. Strange.. Then I opened turned on the lights and WOW is all I could say, the bed where sorta made up, bedspread hanging on floor and sheets hanging off the other side, There was trash in the waste cans, and on top of the dresser and used bath cloth on the side of the sink. There was a awful smell, moldy, wet, and the carpet was just gross. We went right back to check in and they moved us over to CBR. I am sure this was some kind of miss communication, but it really grossed me out, and just turn us off to staying at a value.

I could see how you would be upset -- and good on Disney for making that right with the CBR transfer -- but believe me (and the millions of others) that is a major exception to the normal way things are in the Values -- the only problem we have ever had in any value was having to walk so far to our rooms (60s building and 90s buildings at pop, and Tennis room in Sports) Music and Movies we were always in preferred rooms :)
