We're going mid May - my mom will be in an ECV (she can't walk all day or stand for too long)--does anyone know - do the ECVs go in the regular line or someplace else? She says she'll be able to do the stairs into the sub as long as I'm in front of her for extra support--but with the wait times of that line - she needs to spend it in the chair instead of standing.
With TSMM - is it like the one in WDW--where the ECVs go to a certain point with everyone else and then split off to wait for the 1 vehicle that works?

Thanks!!
:) Liz

There are greeters and they will send you to the disabled line. She can roll her ECV right to the gangplank then walk on board. She and her party will be the last to board as that is easier for disabled guests. A member of her party could park the ECV for her or if she was solo a CM would park it for her.

If she finds she is not up to doing the stairs the talk to the greeter and they will show you where the nonmotion version is located. I have done both versions and the nonmotion is a fun little movie but not like being in the submarine.

Thank you, Laurie. We know most of the other stuff around both parks--but she hasn't been since they reopened the subs--and I wasn't sure if with the refurb if they made it like most new rides where wheelchairs can go with everyone else in line.
Thanks again!!

Bobsleds was changed so that disabled guests have to wait in line like everyone else. Space Mountain had a line where disabled guests had to wait.

Last October when we were there my mother went through the TSMM line in her ECV. She was a little leary because some of the turns seemed tight, but she didn't have any issues. Once we got to the front of the line we were sent to a seperate area to park her ECV and we then boarded a vehicle (I can't remember if it was the one for wheelchairs or a regular one) and left the ECV at the boarding area.

Did they change the part of the line that winds around (right before you board)? Last time she waited in line with us til about 20' before the little hut thing and went through a wheelchair gate and waited there for us to get through the rest of the winding part of the line... getting around the winding parts would stress her out tons.

OK - so it sounds like it's a bit different than the one in WDW... but it sounds good--like it might go faster than the other one.

For the bobsleds it is Fantasyland boarding only however you may use either side's line. When you get to the chalet they will direct you to a ramp up to a spot with a yellow line. If you are not able to walk then they will allow you to go to the ride vehicle's side to transfer. There is a greeter at the chalet who will help with baby swaps and any questions. No more going to the exit to board.

That's great to know--at this point I prefer the 'slower' less jerky Fantasyland side of the Matterhorn anyway--so that's great to know. Thank you!!

When we were there over Thanksgiving, DMIL had an ECV. For Space, there was only a line once. It wasn't very long and we stayed by the wall near the restrooms at the exit. I think we waited 15 minutes. Two other times, she just rode right up the exit and to the handicap loading area

Yep--she LOVES the new Space Mtn loader--cause she can take as much time as she needs to get into and out of the ride--since they have the special 'car' that slides over to the side now. It's one of her favorite rides--but she used to avoid it because she felt bad when she would take too long getting into or out of it before. It's the best now!
