Papa Who is 6'4" and 350-375 pounds. Someone told me recently that he "might not fit" in the Nemo subs. Anyone have experience with bigger passengers on the subs?

My husband is a bigger guy, though a big smaller in height and weight, and the subs aren't extreme amounts of fun for him. He gets uncomfortable b/c the seats are average-bottom width, and fold down, so if you are wider you're going to take over space on other peoples' seats.

I've heard that it's good to request that you're last on, so that you are in a seat with only one neighbor, rather than squished between two.

The other issue will be his height, because even I (5'3") have to lean down a bit to see through the window, so he might have to contort himself to figure out the best way to get a view through his window.

He should try, at least, IMO.

If all else fails, though, there's a viewing room for those who can't get on the subs (claustrophobic, in a wheelchair, bad knees, etc etc), so just ask the CM to be directed to that area! you see the same things; it's just more obvious that it's a "movie"...

I think you're being quite generous calling them "average-bottom width"! I am 5'7", 145 (so, "average"), and I know that I brush against my neighbors in their seats on Nemo.

My honest opinion is that he'll be uncomfortable, both because of the tiny seats and because he's so tall, but I hate to tell anyone not to even try something. It's just a very long line to wait in (usually about 40 minutes) so I'd hate to wait all that time only to be disappointed. Like bumbershoot said, there is always the alternate viewing area if you think he'll be more comfortable with that.

The alternate viewing room (Observation Lab) is actually a pretty "cool" option.

We enjoy it and the subs are not air conditioned where the Observation Lab is and it is really nice and cold in there on hot days! But shhh! don't tell too many about the lab, let it just be our little secret!;)

i'm 6'3 same weight class. my 68" shoulders fit just fine. but ya. the seats make you cozy up and hope everyone showerd today.
there is a no sub viewing area. never used it. but if you don't like small, sealed in tight places with the walls closing in on ya or kids being excited, its an alternative:scared1:

Ha. I was thinking the same thing! Heck, I was glad that DD4 wanted to sit in my lap so I could "spill" over onto her seat. (And I don't have THAT much junk in my trunk...:rotfl:)

OP, I would skip it if my DH were with me. He is a large man also, and there is no way he would be comfy in those subs.
