Nemo Ride Wait

I have a Disney freak and used to live about 10 miles away from Disney growing up and i make sure i visit disney at least once a year. Last year when I went, Nemo was opening the following week..I was furious lol..as a child I always remembered the old subs and when they closed it down i was ticked lol..i even have video my dad recorded of the subs and us having a good time. I'm gonna pull it out in a sec and watch it lol..

anyways, I will be at Disney August 12th and 13th which is a Tuesday and Wednesday. Nemo, being one of my fav movies and since i miss the subs so much, I have to ride this ride lol. I plan (and i say plan cuz you never know if everyone else decides to sleep in, yet if they do, by the time they wake up i'm sure i will be gone . ) Anyways, I plan to get there at opening..should I head to Nemo right away or wait til after 9 when all the kiddies start to head home? When is the slowest time for the Nemo ride?

I will prolly have to hit Nemo, SM, SP, and Indy right away is what i'm guessing.

Let me know what time of day u waited on Nemo and how long you waited and if the wait was worth it...thanks guys! it would give me an idea!!

I would vote to hit it first (maybe swing by and get a FP for SM on your way). I never saw the line shorter than first thing in the morning.

I agree. First thing. I went on a Monday and was not first in line for Nemo or getting in to the park, but was on the ride by 8:30. Also, as I learned with the earthquake, always go on the rides most important to you first because you never know when a ride will shut down.

We got on Indiana the first day and after that it was shut down the entire time. It finally opened around 8 pm of our last day with a 100 hour wait and no FPs. So it was good we rode it at least once.

The Nemo ride shouldn't be bad first thing, but do get to the park before it opens.

Oh, we thought about getting a FP for Space on the way, but I wouldn't. We got one after Nemo and still had an early FP time. If Nemo is most important, get there first.

If you don't have magical morning entry then you will be better riding it 1st thing Wednesday as on Tuesday it will have already been open for the MM guests for an hour before you get into the park. We will be in the park that week too, but we are planning to ride Nemo on the Thursday instead on our 2nd magical Morning.

We waited about 35 minutes one evening in January...in the rain. The CM said it was about a 35-40 minute wait, so they're pretty much spot on about the wait times. It was pretty much the shortest line we'd seen during the entire trip. We enjoyed the ride, it was cute. I'd say it's worth it to wait in line to do it once.

Another option is to ask to use the "Marine Observation Outpost", which is a room that accommodates those who can't or won't ride the submarine (e.g. claustrophobic, knee that makes the spiral staircase difficult, wheelchair bound, etc). It has limited seating, a large high-def screen, and you see the whole 15-minute show. Just ask the Nemo CM's about it and they'll direct you, no questions asked. I'd still recommend taking the sub if you can do it, but the MOO is a good backup plan.

i've done both... my mom and i got in line shortly before the park closed because they let everyone in line ride it up to 2 hrs after the park closes.. the colors at night are wonderful! then one MM we sped walked to nemo and walked right on.

But in april when we went we waited the 45 minutes. which was a lot better than the 95 minutes i saw on the board in september!

We hit Nemo on a Monday at 1 pm. Waited just over 1 hour. Not really worth it but then we had been on the 20000 Leagues Under the Sea ride and this was almost the same.

We were at DL this past week from Friday until Monday. Every day that ride had the longest line of both parks. I would go there first thing or last. We ended up riding it last, got in line about 11:55PM and it had a 20 minute wait. It's very cute, but not worth an hour wait.

We went last August. The ride was still fairly new and the waits were horrendous during the day. We ended up getting up really early on our first day and using Early Entry at 7:00 a.m. When we got to the gates at 6:45 a.m., there were already some pretty good lines and we knew that most people would be headed straight for Nemo. When we got in, there were CMs lining the right side of Main Street directing people to Nemo and trying to get people to walk and not run. We walked directly to Nemo at a pretty good clip. Still, a pretty good line had already formed. We got right in it and still had about a 30 minute wait. That wasn't bad, though. Each time during the next three days when we walked by, the waits were averaging 2 hours! Needless to say, that's the one and only time we rode Nemo!

Line is pretty short during the fireworks. I would try then too if it is too long during the day.
I agree ride is not worth much wait. Cute non the less.

I was there on opening day last summer... a CM said the wait was 6 hours!!! It was woven all the way back to Small World in tight loops.
Needless to say that I did not wait that long! I skipped riding it completely for a few months.

But lately I've been going first thing in the morning and walking through the line for maybe 10 minutes max before boarding. I highly suggest this because the line does get a bit outrageous during the day due to Nemo being the newest ride.

Then I suggest that you head to Space Mountain, Indy, and maybe Splash Mountain before the crowds start to build. Then play it by ear for the rest of the day. I always ride everything more than once. Anything big ticket should be done in the morning to avoid long lines and break downs, and also get to Fantasyland early to have a more enjoyable time waiting for the storybook rides.

We were there June 24th and rode it then. This was an early entry morning and we had done several priority rides. We went over there about 10:30 am. The regular line was 1 hour and 45 minutes plus. We were in the wheelchair line and waited 40 minutes. I am not sure I would have waited much longer.

For a minute I thought MOO referred to the fact that you feel like a herd of cattle trying to get to the ride first thing in the morning. That's why it's called the Nemo Stampede.

If I only had one MM, I wouldn't waste it on Nemo. I might if I had two and I'd never seen it before. We're not doing it this time. We did the Nemo craziness for one of our MMs, and it was not worth it, in my opinion, although we did get on the first sub.

We used our MM last year, the first week Nemo opened, so we could see it. It was worth it then. The non-MM days were great in FL anyway, since everyone RAN over to Nemo every morning! We just walked on to the FL rides anyway!

This year we didn't have any MM (we had AP's). So we just got in line super early on a non-MM day. It was virtually the same thing. We rushed over like a herd of cows. LOL I wouldn't waste a MM now on it, since it's just as easy on a non-MM day.

We were at DL last week. We decided that we would do Nemo on our first day. It was a Wednesday, so not a Magic Morning. We got to the security gate at 7 am, and were let in at 7:30 am. We ran over and were first in line at one of the turnstiles. They let us in the park at 8 am on the dot. I ran up Main Street with the kids and DH ran to grab Fastpasses for Space Mountain.

Dragging my 5 year old and 7 year old down Main Street was hard woprk, and about halfway I slowed to a fast walk. There were cast members there telling us which way to go to get to the Nemo line. They made us go in through Fantasyland (the path to the right of the castle, going around the Matterhorn) and we lined up at the end of the chain link waiting area paths. We were the second group in line (2 women were in front of us) and after about a minute they walked us through the entire line. By the time we got to the front of the line, the waiting area was full. We were on the first sub, and it pulled out at 8:15. We were back by 8:40 am.

We enjoyed the ride, but it wasn't good enough to wait that long again. We didn't see it shorter than an hour wait the entire time we were there.

Incidentally, we liked our plan to do Nemo on a non-MM. That way it was done, and the next day when we had MM we skipped Nemo and were able to do 8 rides in Fantasyland during the first hour, and still make it to the 8 am rope drop at Adventureland to run for Indiana Jones.
