NEMO OPENED! Was this anyone here?

We will be there Sunday - fortunate scheduling for us. It's a soft-opening for AP and DVC members I think (might have left off some). I'm not sure when it officially opens, but I'm sure glad I upgraded to annual passes back in the spring. I'll let you know how it went when we get back.

They are having preview this week. Wed is for EPCOT Cast Members and Partners in Excellence recipients. On Thursday, all Disney Cast can preview and on Fri, Sat & Sun it is for DVC and Passholders only. The Official "Soft" opening will be monday 10/16 at 9am. I have heard they are letting some guests preview already....as a suprise

I concur, walls were down, seagulls say, "Mine."

I asked the CM in front if he knew if and when it would be open and he said, "No, it's closed!" I was kind of shocked how rude he was. A guy inside was more helpful, said it opens officially on Monday and they were "testing" it this week. He didn't know when it would be tested, though.

We leave Friday, I really hope we get a chance to ride it as I don't know when I'll be able to come back.

And yes, the gulls do say "Mine... Mine... Mine...!"

I just saw pics of the new clamobiles (the ride vehicle) on the allearsnet website. Apparently, the ride did open around lunchtime yestrday (the 9th) for a very brief time where about 100 people were admitted to ride. There is also new info on the wdwmagic website with some pics and a video thats very difficult to see since its dark. They may continue to let on some people over the next few days until the previews and opening but there isn't any notice. You'll just have to be there when they do it.

Yay! That video, though dark, was great. Though that has to be the loudest ocean I've ever heard! It was hard to tell how much of that was repetitive screaming from the characters in the ride and how much was being repeated by people on the ride itself. Either way I'm PSYCHED!

Cool... this time I'll actually be going at the right time to catch a new attraction! Missed Mission Space and Philharmagic by a few months in 2003, ToT by a few days in 1994... now it looks like good timing!

We were there yesterday and I asked (nicely) if there was a soft opening and was told no! However the seagulls were chanting "mike" or "mine" or whatever it is they say and the waves were splashing. The new paint job looked quite nice. I guess I will just have to wait until December to see it!
