NEMO OPENED! Was this anyone here?

Monday October 9th, 2006, around lunchtime, a few guests report having being let into the Seas with Nemo and Friends to ride the attraction. The opening was reportedly very breif with the CMs outside denying the event both before and after the occurance in very vague terms. The refurbishment walls have come down and the crashing wave-effect fountain has been turned on.

Again, these previews are not official and should be considered a privilage in any form. If you are allowed entrance into the attraction on any day its not officially open consider yourself very luckey - and please be nice to the Cast Members outside. Its their job to stand outside and tell you its closed all day, even if it will open in 5 minutes. The have no control over the situation.

I am not surprised. It was has been report that the attraction was complete for the last few weeks. It was only a matter of time they would allow guests to explore the attraction.

I'm not surprised either, but it seems that the rumor of the possible opening before the DVC/AP preview held true, at least for a few folks.

A few days ago I posted a thread in this forum about this same attraction. It was spoilers that include detailed analysis of this attraction. You may want to search for it. While I was reading it, I felt like I was on this attaction and I already know what to expect. It is very intresting. If I had the link, I would post it but I dont. Just use the search feature provided by DIS.

Are you sure it has opened? I read on another thread that the wall came down, but I didn't hear about it opening yet. If it is open, I can't wait to hear about it though.

i was at epcot 10/4 the wall was still up then

A few years ago we were at WDW when they were doing soft openings for M:S. It was scheduled to officially open until a few weeks later. DH got the opportunity to ride it and was thrilled.
We were also there during the soft opening of Philharmagic, but didn't realize it. We'll be seeing that this trip for sure.

Think this week is starting the CM previews, AP is 12-13. The Reservation CM I talked to this weekend was excited about seeing it this week, so that's what I'm going on. Can't wait!!!

I rode MS when the walls were still up.I was on TT and an older gent was telling me one of his sons were working on the ride and told him to head to the park and hang around as they were letting test groups( just enough to fill the ride)on the ride.

There was a CM standing in a small break in the wall .He would get you just inside the wall and have you wait until enough to fill. Then he walked us all back do the ride and all the after stuff.

This was a month or so before it opened .They can only do so much with sand bags and test equipment.

I would like for it to be in full swing when we get down at the end of the month but if not we'll be back in Dec.

Yes. It was stated that they came down this afternoon.

I was there for a couple hours after work. They were not letting anyone on. At one point it looked like they were getting ready to open (lots of CMs were outside and so was one of the Dreams people) but eventually they all went away.

You can see the vehicles if you go inside, there are LOTS of them with no space between them (unlike say, HM.)

I was there today, and the walls are indeed down.

And yes, the gulls do say "Mine... Mine... Mine...!"

They do! We saw it tonight. Sounded just like the movie.

The ride wasn't open but there were ropes set up outside like a queue had been there earlier. And there were several CMs on Segways standing outside looking over it and talking.
