DIS Dads Nemesis Challenge 2

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Based on the slowness of this thread (and others like it at the Pub and FB) motivation and training may be slowing down. I'm guilty of it too. But now that the weather is turning and I don't need to worry about snow and ice on the sidewalks and trails, I'm getting outside more to run. Sure does feel better than the treadmill.

Wimps. Talked to the Pirate Princess last night and she was icing down her knees after a 13 mile run. You guys going to let a little girl out train you?

Oh and i signed up for the 5K.

Icing down the knees? Who's the wimp now? The only ice cold thing you need after a run is a beer. :thumbsup2

Good for you!

Sadly, I just un-signed up for it. :(
runDisney is very adamant that there be no strollers, baby backpacks, or baby carrier devices of any kind on the course. And yes, that includes me just carrying DS. He has to walk/run the entire course. At 22 months old, that just isn't going to happen. runDisney offered to refund his registration, but I told them the 5k was a birthday gift to my wife (the race is actually on her birthday) and she won't do it if all of us can't do it. Just got email this morning confirming that they are refunding all 5 of our entry fees. It really sucks.

It's a bummer that y'all aren't going to be able to do it. I'm glad that at least they refunded the money.

The doc referred me to a PT and I'm not supposed to run till that meeting next week.

A buddy started putting our dopey training together. That training will likely be about 20 weeks long starting with a basis of running 30 miles per week. I will be doing some back to back runs but my bigger goal is getting my body conditioned to running 50-55 miles in a week.

BOOOO! That really does stink. I'm sure it has to do with insurance and lawyers but they really shouldn't call it the Family Fun Run 5k then.

After the injuries I got from Team Tim at the DDCC that was aggravated at the Sandy hook 5k, I've needed to stop training and recover. It's been going on starting 3 weeks, but I'm starting to feel better. As long as I don't do anything to set it off I think it will get better. And I stay away from Team Tim!

LOL... glad you are starting to feel better Randall.:thumbsup2

I don't know what the capacity was for the 10K but it is already sold out. :faint:

There goes my 'plan' to run both the 1/2 and the 10K.

I'm still working on Melody to let me go. She said I should take 2014 off then do it again in 2015. 2015! That is so far away. I need to avenge my loss in 2014. Team Barry cannot run with no worries. I need to be there. :scratchin

Bet hurry up. Only one day in to registration for the public and the half is already 51% full!

Ever heard of the term "It's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission"? :lmao:

Even if you were there, Team Barry would run with no worries. :thumbsup2
Oh really? :coffee:

Well, keep telling yourself that. ::yes::

I will be monitoring the percentages. After the first day spike, it will be slow going for a few weeks I'm sure. It will ramp up again right before the price jumps in June.

Yes and I usually live by that motto. I'm just not sure how I can explain 'going to get milk' and being gone for 4-5 days. :rolleyes2

You were kidnapped by disgruntled dairy farmers and forced to pasteurize for days until you finally managed to chew through the bindings and ride Bessie to safety......What? It could happen.:rolleyes1

I have had enough of this Beverly, I'm going to see the Doctor.

I have had enough of this Beverly, I'm going to see the Doctor.

Saw the Doctor on Friday.

And the Doctor said, "No More Randall's Jumping On The Bed!"

Not Really. :)

He said the yes there is something wrong, and sent me out for x-rays. Should have the results in a few days or by next Monday when I go back for infusion. He also put me on a prednisone 6 day pack.
So, now we wait... :crutches:

Doctor called and said that there was damage from arthritis in my lower left back. He thinks physical therapy is what I need. So we'll be setting that up and see how it goes. :)

You really need this year as prep so you can be ready to run the 10th anniversary goofy.

Fake your own kidnapping. When you get back she'll be really happy to see you.

... still waiting...
Hope the physical therapy goes well Randall.

How were you able to find out how full the half was already?
