BERLIN (Reuters) - A German has used recorded barking to provoke a neighbour's dog to respond so he could report the animal for disturbing the peace, police say.
"The man evidently didn't like the dog and wanted to make it bark more so he could report it," a police spokesman in the northern town of Harrislee said on Monday.
After the man complained to police about the German shepherd, the neighbour discovered a speaker hidden in his garden hedge attached to a cable leading to the man's house.
He alerted police, who found the system was rigged up to play dog barks and sounds of tongue clicks meant to attract canines. "The whole story is so ludicrous, we really can't imagine what he thought he would achieve," the spokesman said.
"There's no way the man would have had his dog taken away just because it barked sometimes."

They should put a speaker with a dog barking 24/7 outside his bedroom window and see how he likes it. People who pick are animals are the worse!

 What a jerk! Aren't you glad he's not your neighbor! Good grief! Can you imagine living next door to a guy like that, who has nothing better to do then to rig up things to fool dogs!   Bah!

What kind of fool would create something like that to make the dog bark, and to put up with the dog barking long enough to complain about it. If the dog wasn't barking, what was his problem to begin with?
