I finally met my neighbors on the other side of me last night. I don't think I could have nicer neighbors than this couple. I got home from my parents and needed to shovel my driveway from the snowstorm we had. It wasn't going well. Aside from my bloodsugar bottoming out, I had sprained my hand and was really not supposed to be doing that. I did pay for that decision later.

My neighbor came out with a shovel and offered to help. I don't know how I would have done it without her, especially as the bottom layer was solid ice. After living in the apartment building dubbed the looney bin for two years (neighbor who heard voices and screamed at them in the stairwell, neighbor who liked to cause drama, and neighbors who had the police there every week) it's nice to have nice neighbors for a change. Although I did tell my family after that that as soon as my three years are up I'm moving to Florida!

I think nice neighbors are a great blessing. Like family, you don't choose them. It's a luck-of-the-draw kind of thing so when you are blessed with good ones, you should treasure them.

We are blessed with many good neighbors on our street. We watch each others houses, take care of each others pets when out of town, run kids to school, etc. I feel very fortunate to live where I do.

We just moved into our first house at the beginning of Nov. We live in a cul de sac with 3 houses, we are in the middle. The neighbor to the left of us has a snow plow attached to his work truck, and when it snows, he plows out all 3 driveways. It's so nice not having to get out there and do it. When we took over Christmas goodies as a thank-you, separately, he and his wife said, "it keeps him busy."

Count your blessings! I live in an apartment building and my neighbor tried to have me evicted because after 12 years, he decided he doesn't like my cats.

We have very nice neighbors too. DW & I are among the youngest in the neighborhood and we're both 55! Everyone is so nice when you take a walk people wave as they drive by. Our neighbors on one side of us cat-sit when we go out of town, neigbors on the other side pick up our mail when we travel. We seldom get a chance to reciprocate because neither of them travel much, but we do whatever we can do be good neghbors too.
