I believe that this board is here to share our enjoyment of VMK, help each other along the way, have a trade community, and a place to vent.
However, at what point is there SO much negativity that it just becomes too much?
- Double days are not fair!
- Masks for sale too long, what's the point?
- I didn't win an award, vmk messed up!
- something costs too much, they cant do that!
- my retired precious item just came back, how dare they?!?!
The list goes on and on. I think it is good to get frustrations out and I believe that this is an appropriate place to do so. I do so as well, so by no means am I say I am immune.
However, I just learned today that a long time member of this community has left because of the negativity overall, capped by something that this person was excited about being turned into complete negativity. This is truly sad. It also weakens the power of our DIS community when we lose a strong, active member.
I am aware of others who have left the DIS community for the same reason.
Please, try to consider the affect on others when you post. People have troubles in their lives. Some are dealing with health issues, family issues, work/school issues, death of loved ones, the list goes on. VMK (and these boards) serves as an escape from that. Excessive negativity here only adds to the bad side of life.
Yes, vent. Yes, share your frustrations. Yes, disagree. To the point of tearing someone else's excitement down? To the point of hurting another person? Where's the magic in that? Unless seeing members disappear is true magic.....
