Negative 'Ohana review--we're disappointed.

I have ADR with them in July. I won't miss the old menu since this is my first try at Ohana. BUT!! bad service is something I want to avoid.

I chose Ohana for my DD.. (my choice woud been Kona Cafe), now having a second thought...

The only thing worth raving about on the menu is the bread pudding. Everything else is just okay, including our service that night. By the way, they serve the same exact bread pudding at park fare breakfast buffet.

:wave2: I just made reservations at Ohana for our September/october trip and even now I still have second thoughts. Like many DPs here, I guess everyone will have a different experience with a different opinion may it be good or bad. My original plan was to go to Ohana but for the character breakfast so we can have a different character experience like Lilo and Stitch and I know my kids would have loved that but my DH convinced me for the dinner. If you had a choice, would you pick the Character breakfast or the dinner at Ohana? Opinions please? :wave2:

We dined at Ohana on May 18. Our food was great but the service was also sub-par. I don't remember our server's name, but we also had a different person bring us the meats then our drinks. The service during dinner wasn't horrible, but it took us 20 minutes to get our check and then another 15 to get our credit card back! We had a 15 month old with us!! Needless to say, DS and I went and wandered around the looby for a half an hour while my husband sat and waited to PAY for dinner.

I will probably still eat there again because we really liked the food, but maybe we'll ask for the check earlier.

We also had bad service on May 19th and won't be back. We always eat at O Hana's each trip but this meal was the worst. The service was slow took 30 min. to get our bill and another 20 min to get it back from our server. Our 4 year old was served the adult food the server never told us about the childrens menu until the end of the meal when she noticed she wasn't eating.
It was the first time we had taken her to O Hana's. I just thought the children ate the same as the adults my mistake for not asking. They still charged for her even though she didn't eat.

It is so strange that there is such a wide range of service at 'Ohana. I had heard so many bad things, mostly about the service, that I was hesitant to try it for our first time. But we did anyway. We were there May 23 as well with a ressie of 8:50. We were seated within 5 minutes and had our drink orders taken immediately. If anything our service was TOO attentive. The food came out a little too fast but everything was wonderful. We never had to wait. We were a group of 6 and seated very close to the grill and windows. We were finished and paid by 10:00 in time to see Wishes outside. We are planning to go again in December. I hope we have as good an experience as the first time.

We also had bad service here in Sept. 05. The food was great, but the hostess and our servers were just short of surly. But the view was great!

We had a FABULOUS experience at Ohana on Nov 5 and there were 9 of us. The service was excellent and the food was incredible and plentiful. Watching Wishes during dessert was an added bonus. I recommended it to my niece and her family and they ate there on May 14 (party of 9) and they shared the same wonderful experience as we did. For anyone rethinking their upcoming reservations I would say don't change. Try it for yourself. I personally would never switch from Ohana in favor of a dinner at Chef Mickey. That's a whole other story. :sunny:
