Hi All,
I have been to RF cafe twice before and have had good experiences... but this past week it was so horrible I had to let my DIS buds know. Party of 4, we were seated right away (call ahead seating) so we were happy even though we got a table right near the (noisy) entrance. That was OK. We order soda's and an appetizer and hubby decided to buy their membership. 20 minutes goes by, no drinks, no cheese sticks. No happy. We ask... a few more mintes goes by and we get drinks. The chesse sticks come a few minutes later... but they dont bring plates! :confused3 We have to ask... a few more minutes goes by. OK. We FINALLY get the waiter back to place our dinner order, and a LONG time goes by before we ever see food. THEN I have YUCK on my plate. I ordered the turkey wrap and there are "things" in my dip cup... and it is actually all over. Hubby checks his, it's on his too. Rice? Maybe. But we dont have rice, or rather shouldnt. This looks like someone flung a handful of crap across the kitchen and some landed on the food. 30 minutes goes by before we get replacemnt food. And then the wrap wasnt made right. Whatever. We ate some and left. We also missed the parade since we sat there so long. It was so bad we cancelled the membership right there, and we didnt go back that weekend like we had planned. It was a terrible dining experience and I will be very cautious of telling anyone to try RFC ever again. :headache: (I didnt even tell you that my chair was broken.)

oh no! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. We have a dinner set for RFC, but we are going to be canceling because we decided to spend our arrival day in DL...sounds like it may have worked out for the best...

Sorry to hear that. Have eaten there at least 20+ times and have never had that type of experience. If I get there in August I will try again and see what shakes out.

Jack

I am so sorry to hear this. I am not overly a "food" person, but a bad dinner experience can ruin a day/evening!

I have been to our local RF, but this makes me think twice about visiting the RF in DTD when we are there.

Sorry about your experience, we ate there 2 Tues. ago ~ and while the food was nothing spectacular we had a good time.

Did you speak with the manager? Whenever I have a bad experience at a resteraunt I always complain to the manager and most of the times Ive gotten the meal for free. Never had to complain at the RF Cafe though.

Like Blackjack, we have eaten there many times. Never had a bad experience but if I had something similar to the OP's I would be irritated! I am sorry that happened to your family, for what you pay at RFC it should be on target! But again, we have always been very pleased with our experiences there through the years and I also agree that speaking to a manager when something like this happens is a good idea.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, although I can say that I am not really surprised. We have eaten at RFC's in New York, Florida and Las Vegas. We go because the kids like the atmosphere. Usually the food and the service are just so so. We would never buy the membership.

We've had much better experience at the House of Blues. We've never had a bad meal and the service is quick!

We've only been once and will never return because of a much similar situation!

Yikes. I might re-think our PS for the Friday night (a week tomorrow). It's hard to know what to do though, as we have never been to a RFC and I think the kids would enjoy the experience. Should we keep the reservation and give it a try?? I used to work in the service industry so I know that sometimes you can have an off night, where everything seems to go wrong and you're constantly "in the weeds" as they used to term it. Maybe I'll chalk it up to that and hope for a good experience.

overpriced food wasn't that great wont be going back. I know everythign there is overpriced but it should taste good for that price :cool2:

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience!

Being local, I make it to RFC in DTD with friends ever so often. It's always a hit or miss with the place.
Sometimes great service and other times just lousy. I haven't figured it out completely.

I think it all comes down to your server. Some are great and others are meh.

For those who have never been, anything is worth a try at least once. For me, I only go now when friends suggest it, otherwise, there's plenty of other good eats around.

We went for dinner to that location last year & had a bad experisnce as well. We won't be going back. That being said, we have had awesome experiences at other RFC locations. :confused3

WE have AP's and make the 6 hr drive to DL once a month (or so) and we at RFC every time. We've never had an experience like that! Slow service sure, but good food everytime. We are members and it has more than paid for itself by now. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, I also hope you spoke with management about it.

Sorry for your experience. I agree with others that you should have complained to the management. It is only when people bring it to the manager's attention that they are able to make changes. The mangment may or may not (or sadly even care) that there is such a reputation for uneven service (some days good some days bad). If more people spoke up then maybe changes would be made. That is my 2 cents.

We went in October for breakfast and had a good experience. I was sort of reticent to go there because I feel sort of luke warm about the food, usually. I did think the breakfast was the best food I had eaten at RFC. I have eaten at about 5 different locations and twice at the DTD one.

I am sorry you had a crappy time, though. I hate when that happens when I am on vacation. I always think, "Please step it up people! I am on vacation!" Plus, I used to wait tables, so I have an idea in my head about how things should be done.

Last June we had a good experience there. We went back in October and it was pretty lousey. The service was terrible and the food wasn't even great. My Mom had a burger, and the bun was so hard, she had one heck of a time eating it.

We still plan on giving it another go in June. We eat there every year. I had really hoped our one bad experience was a fluke. But I don't know now after hearing a few other people have similar problems!

We are going in June too , as a business owner I think telling manangement is important. I find people who have a bad experience share it with alot more people then they do a good experience. Do you have a server name? Maybe you could e-mail them so they can improve the customer relations.

We have eaten there twice - both with bad experiences. The first time it took a long time and the food was overpriced and just so-so. We gave it one more shot and it sounds just like your experience - we missed early entry becuase they took so long to bring our food. We watched as other people around us who arrived AFTER us were served 10 - 15 mins before us. We had to complain twice to the waitress and then once to the manager to actually get our bfast. I would never ever eat there again.

We ate there twice for lunch in October (had such a good lunch there one day, we went back the next!!) Anyhow, we loved it, had great service and great food... dd loved her kids meal (it can come with a banana--she thought that was pretty cool!) and we sat by the elephants one day and the monkeys the next... so yeah, we are planning on going back next weekend...
