Neighbors of ours will be meeting us for 2 days during our vacation. They have 2 children 7 and 9, who have never been to Disney. We are going to spend time at MK and AKL. What would be on your do not miss list? Unfortunately spectromagic is not offered on the days they are coming.

At MK, do not miss Philharmagic and Wishes fireworks at night. IMO, Stitch is a MUST MISS!

At AK, Lion King is a must see!

Space Mountain, Buzz LIghtyear, It's a Small World (if it's open then), Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Mickey's Philharmagic and any of the parades....

AK.. The Safari, Lion King Show, It's Tough to be a Bug

My two are those ages, so let me weigh in on this topic.
I'm going to ask them what they couldn't miss at MK and AK......

Okay, here's what they said...

MK: Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Winnie the Pooh, Splash Mt., Philharmagic, Tomorrowland Speedway, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carib., Toontown (for autographs and Goofy's Barnstormer)....ok, ok, I just made them stop.

AK: Festival of the Lion King, Tarzan Rocks, Kilimanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids...and Pizzafari

So, there they are....what fellow 7 and 9 year old DKs said.

Suggest don't miss parades and some of the live shows offered at each park, just check out guide you can get from CM's. :sunny:

I just had the best time reading everyones replies :flower:

It's a Small World is scheduled to re-open April 5th, so hopefully it will be open. It would seem weird to go to MK and not go on it.

I don't think Stitch was open last year, at least we didn't ride it. Can someone tell me about it?

Hi! I was just going to add this little "warning" of sorts. I discovered that my 2 girls - 5 and 7 - HATED it's tough to be a bug. They didn't last 5 minutes - crying, etc. Even so, my 7 year old decided she still wanted to try Dinosaur, because of the "ride" factor. (She Loved Primeval Whirl). Alas, there was again, lots of crying. Anyhow, we still had a good time at AK - I just thought you might want to feel them about about things jumping out in the dark - that seemed to be the big issue with both of those attractions in AK. ( We didn't have any issues in MK - yay!
