I did it with my wife on our anniversary in late May. I thought it was average and she thought it was above-average. I had a chicken plate, I believe and she had the steak. The service was average and the food was pretty good. We both left stuffed. There are a lot of good apetizer plate selections if you're in to that sort of thing.
Atmosphere-wise it's very cramped and noisy since you're right next door to Chef Mickey's and you're right there in the atrium with the monorail going right over your head. But, some people like that!
So, overall, i twas good but I won't be going back.
Funny you ask this question because I was just about to post a review! We ate there on the DDP last Friday. We ordere the buffalo steak with bernaise sauce (which was the Chef special that night, it is every weekend I think), the beef ternderloin with red wine butter and the half roasted chicken. The tenderloin was great!! The chicken was good, but nothing speacial. The buffalo steak was amazing! It was very tender and the bernaise sauce was fantastic!
Our waitress was Ashley. She was a fantastic server! She was on top of drinks, and very knowledgable about all of the food!
We actually enjoyed our meal so much we changed our reservation for Saturday night to Concourse Steakhouse and requested Ashley as our server again! We all ordered the buffalo the second night.
This was my first time having buffalo and I loved it, but I have no other buffalo experiences to compare it to.
thank you all. I tried today to get ressies here for Sept. no chance no openings at all at this point but I will keep trying and again thanks for all of you input it has helped me more than you know.
We ate there last Sept and are going back again this Sept. We loved it, but then again we all had steak, which is what they specialize in. The other menu items should be good, too, but they may not be up to par with their steaks. We had everything from filet to prime rib. We all had smoothies, and the creme brulee dessert was fabulous!!
I hope that we aren't disappointed! I just made a ressie for 8/10/07. I am embarassed to say that I have never step foot in the Contemporary and I have been going to WDW for 30 years!
We were like you and went for the first time last Sept. We were on the DDP for the first time, and Concourse was our first TS meal. We were not disappointed! Our meal was fabulous and service was great. We celebrated our oldest DS's 15th birthday there and he had a big, juicy steak. He couldn't have been more pleased. With 5 in our fam and 2 of them teenage boys, we can't go anywhere that we can say, "Order whatever you want from the menu, and while you're at it, get appetizers and dessert." It was so much fun that we're doing it again this September!
We went for the first time during free DDP last year and it was actually my DS's favorite restaurant. DH and I both had steak and it was great. Kids both got the penne pasta w/chicken and really enjoyed it. DS absolutely loved the Key Lime Pie and has requested at least one stop at Concourse during our upcoming visit.
We ate at the Concourse Steak house this past Father's Day and we really enjoyed our entire meal. The salads were good and our steaks were done perfectly. I would definitely go there again.
Would you consider a lunch there? I called up yesterday and had no problem reserving a 1:00 lunch for 9/29. The bad news is right after that lunch I'll be leaving WDW. The good news I'll just be going down the street for another 4 days at Universal
It is a very good deal if you are on the DDP. When we went to Disney for 9 nights last year, it was one of our most expensive dinners. Luckily we were on the DDP. I booked the Concourse Steak house again for our trip this August.
