We will be in San Diego 6/27-7/5 for my son's Marine graduation. I finally booked a hotel. It was so hard because I don't know the area. Our plans so far are going to DL Monday 6/29 and Tuesday 6/30. How long does it take to get there from San Diego? Are two days enough? I can plan a WDW trip no problem but I'm clueless about DL. 7/1 and 7/2 we will be at family day and graduation. 7/3 we are going to the zoo. I'm not sure what to do with Saturday 7/4 and Sunday 7/5 till around 3:00. Is SW a must do? Which beaches are good for kids?

If your planning on going to just DL then 2 days is plenty, if your planning on going to both DL/DCA and want to see EVERYTHING then you may want to add another day since it's the end of June and kids are out of school, the parks will be busy and you'll be waiting on long lines through most of the day. As far as San Diego to Anaheim, the drive is around 90 minutes. Sea World is very nice and overall it's not as nice as the Sea World in Orlando, it's definetly a must see. Be sure to wear sun screen and hats or else you'll get burned, TRUST ME! Anyways have a great trip!

How young is your youngest? If you go to the Disneyland forum and follow the fastpass tips you can do all the major rides in Disneyland in one day, even when the park is super crowded, but if you want to do the rides in fantasyland, go to toon town, that kind of thing then one day is not enough IMO. I think if you're there you should go to California adventure, it has some great rides as well!!

We just drove from San Diego to Anaheim yesterday and it took as a little bit more than an hour and a half, and remember to consider traffic depending on the time and day you're driving. I think we were supposed to be driving in light traffic and there were still lots of cars on the freeway.

Seaworld is really nice but the beaches are also very nice. I highly recommend La Jolla, it has a strip of very nice stores and a lovely beach, a must see in my opinion.

Have fun!

We plan on going to both parks. Our kids are 5, 8, 15 and 20. They are all thrill seekers. Well maybe not the 15 year old but he will go on most stuff. Is there a sticky for the fastpass tips on the other forum? Will my 5 year old be able to do much at DCA?

There is a great area for the 5 year old in DCA- bugs land, with rides especially for little ones. My kids loved it and they are a little older 7, 8 and 11. I would add at least one more day. We spent 8 days at DL or DCA in our holiday in April and could have done with more time!

While in San Diego we did the SEAL tour that is a bus that drives into the water and becomes a boat- the kids loved that. They loved Balboa Park too
