OH boy. I made reservations through Dreams Unlimited for the Dolphin for our June trip. I decided to check the Starwood website to see our reservation and note any requests. Plus I wanted to add my card. Well, when I went, there was no reservation. SO then I called. No reservation. I was like what is going on?? The guy takes my information and tells me he will forward it to the Dolphin and they should call me within 48 hours. I thought that this was unacceptable. So I call the Dolphin direct. I spoke to a resrevationist and she said, yes we have your reservation. RELIEF!!!!!! Then she said it's for March 2005. WHOA. No, I correct her, I said it's for June. She said not on our system. I just got real quiet. She asks me for the dates (for the reservation I thought I had booked) and she says, we have plenty of rooms for that date. I said are you sure? The website is showing no availability. She said no, we are only booked the 14th and 15th. I said, o.k. that means I don't have a room. She says yes you do. I said no my dates are the 8th tough the 16th. You are missing 2 of my dates. It was her turn to get quiet. Well now I have to wait to talk with the coordinator that deals with Dreams Unlimited. I am so frustrated right now

I think what makes me even more upset is that if I had not followed up, we would have shown up in Florida without a place to stay. To top that I already have my airline tickets. They were free because of an airline mistake. I have never experienced anything like this before and I just had to get it out.
 
Thank goodness you double checked everything. I probably would have shown up in Florida assuming everything was fine. I hope everything works out ok for you.
 
Hi. What a nightmare! I feel for you. I've just had a simular experience, not quite that bad, with Dreams unlimited. When I called them, they fixed it right away. But I still called Disney myself after that to add the one more night to our trip. I won't use them again. I've heard good and bad reports about them. I think it depends on which agent you get. It 's nice to have someone else make the phone calls for you AND make your priority seating, but... never again. If you have to rebook, the code for rooms only is good through tomorrow if you want a disney hotel. I hope you get it all straightened out. Oh, also I was cruising travelocity. They've got pretty good rates for june at disney hotels. If this falls through atleast you can fix it and go on your trip.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I can't believe that you are this upset .....about something in 2005! How in the world could a resort be completely full a year from now? :rolleyes:
 

ScarlettO- I think you didn't read right. They have it booked for 2005 when it should have be June of this year.

She means this June, not 2005.
 
ScarlettO - her trip is THIS June - they had her booked for March 2005.


But before I'd get too upset - I'd wait to hear from DU. There's two sides to every story - and everyone - including the hotel possibly - makes mistakes that can be fixed. They made my PS for Cindy's for the wrong date when we went 4 years ago - and when I talked to them about - they were able to fix it and get it for the date we needed. Give them a chance to make it right before you get too angry.

(BTW - I don't work for them nor am I using them this trip - I just know that things can usually be worked out!):D
 
not angry. Just concerned about the 2 days that are booked.
 
I am not familiar with DU but did you get any kind of confirmation hard copy or confirmation # for your booking. They are bound to uphold the booking you made with them. Instead of dealing with the Dolphin directly, I would demand the problem be worked out through the agency in which it was booked. There are all kinds of allocations of rooms. I am a travel agent and I called directly to WDTC to book a room at the poly for a friend of mine and it was not available. She went on travelocity and got exactly what she wanted. I am confident they will work it out.

terribm- yes I have the reservation and confirmation number from Dreams unlimited. They are the travel agency that is used here on the DIS. The only problem is you can't talk to anybody, you must wait for them to email you. That is the only contact I have had with them for 2 months. I know that I have no choice but to wait it it, but patience is not my virtue :o
 
I do not know if it will help but I found the following phone number for your Dreams Unlimited by searching their web site. 1-888-374-0494. I do not use a travel agent for vacations myself. I always feel no one else has as vested of an interest in planning my vacation correctly as I do. I even book cruises direct. I have had better luck getting myself upgraded for free on cruise ships than I ever did when I use to use an agent. Just food for thought. Good luck.:wave:
 
People use a travel angency to be able to sit back and let the agency do the worrying for them, and whether DU can fix this or not, they did not do their job because you are having to worry about it. I'd try to get them to fix it, but I think this is really unacceptable and I'm glad to know about it because , while I know people make mistakes, I really wouldn't want to have to wonder if things were getting done correctly. I'd rather just do it myself.
 
I know that the Dolphin reservations are booked through DreamsRES, which is slightly different than the regular Dreams Unlimited area. When this is booked you get immediate confirmation on the site of your dates--I'm sure that something will be worked out for you if your confirmation page showed the correct booking dates. You should contact your agent about this (if they have not already contacted you.)

I certainly understand why you are concerned and upset. I'm happy that you double-checked everything. If it can't get worked out maybe you can stay at another nice resort for those two days. It could work out to be an enjoyable experience to try someplace else for a couple of days. But I do pray that you get what you originally requested and wanted.
 
Hopefully, all will be worked out. I just wanted to jump in and say that I have had great luck with DU. They have been able to fix a multitude of problems. Mostly the mistakes were of my making, but they still got it fixed. With SueEllen and John hanging around, it's sure to get fixed.
 
Thanks for the encouragement. I can say that the DreamsUnlimited team is definately on the job. They are being extremely helpful in trying to get this resolved.
 
Well, thank goodness. The people from Dreams Unlimited went over and beyond the call of duty. Everything has been taken care of. The Dolphin made a mistake and booked my reservation wrong. However, I have gotten my original reservation and now all of my dates have the AP rate applied. So thanks for everyone's good wishes and concerns and thanks to those at Dreams for fixing the problem.

Sheree'~I knew BOB and the staff @ DU would take care of everything~! If I would have seen this thread earlier...I would have PM'd you, to reassure you of this fact. They are wonderful, and always go over and above the call of duty (or customer service expectations).
