On our visit last week, I had the zipper on my backpack fail. The bad part was my Nikon D90 fell out and hit the ground! OUCH!!!

The camera is in the repair shop and can be saved. Whew.....

The backpack will be not be used in the parks again. I'd like to find a medium size one with a mickey design on it. I didn't see anything sparking my interest in the Disney Store site. Where should I begin to look?

TIA

I bought one at DL a few years back. Just plain black and across the back it says "Disneyland" in a bunch of colorful character letters.

Vera Bradley also has a backpack with the Disney design prints...some are really cute!

No advice on the backpack, but I use a Skooba wrap on my SLR. Domke also makes them.

I have the small version of this one. The camera has its own compartment and is snugged up against your lower back. The zippers are self healing but even if they were to fail your camera isn't going anywhere. I have used a variety of bags/backpacks at Disney (always in search of that 'perfect bag') and let me tell you, it is the most comfortable backpack I've ever carried. I was not sore at all after four days and a lot of miles. I know you said you wanted a Disney design but a bag designed to carry the weight of a DSLR and its many accessories is always going to be more secure. I put my Disney pins on mine. :)

I used to use LowePro slings, but now I just use a 5.11 backpack. Its got umpteen pockets, a sternum strap, nice ventilated padding, water bottle pockets, etc. Just all around awesome. Put some Mickey patches on that and call it a day.

I picked this up recently, after seeing several recommendations - Amazon Basics Backpack. http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...438022&sr=8-2&keywords=amazon+basics+backpack

It is relatively small in height and width, but is pretty deep. Has adjustable slots for cameras and lenses, is pretty well cushioned, and holds a LOT of stuff. I have a couple of cameras, a rollpro bag, pole, and tons of other stuff in it. It's deep, but pretty light, and haven't had any problems with it at all. I had a more expensive LowePro that I still like, but the Amazon Basics back pack for SLR/DSLR really was perfect for it's size, and yet being able to carry a lot of things. Not expensive is a great bonus.
