Need your thoughts, teacher related UPDATE

Glad everything worked out for your daughter. I also have so say, that I am so glad(in a sick sort of way) that you did post proof of the school actually being wrong. So many people come on here and basically call kids liars saying there must be more to the story. Sometimes there are not so great teachers and teachers aids just like there are great ones. NOt everything is always the students fault. Rant over.

OP, first of all, I'm glad everything got straightened out.

Now.... I do NOT condone the aide's behavior, but I don't think she needs to be fired. She made a mistake, but she owned up to it and made it right. It also sounds as if she was immediately sorry and realized the mistake. I'd be willing to bet that she never does it (or anything like it) again. She could turn out to be a valuable addition to the classroom.

It was a mistake. I know I've made them before, and many of them were ones which could not be as easily taken care of as hers. The teacher and the aide both apologized and the OP's dd is getting the grade she should.

Did the teacher apologize to the dd in front of the class?

When I was in high school, I was in a car accident. in hospital for 8 days. The guidance counselor was told this by my parents, she was to tel the teachers. She didn't.

I get back to school, I still have marks on my arms from the i.v.s and needles. My first class was English. I turned in the hospital note at the office then went to Englihs. that heffer accused me of not being there beause of drugs. Except, I didnt do drugs. So I had to go to principals office. My father was called and he almost gave them a can of butt whoop.

The teacher was made to apologize to me in front of the whole class. Back then I was so quiet, but I didnt do drugs and for dang sure didn't need to have someone make that presumption.

I agree and I didnt get the impression that she would be fired. The impression I got from the teacher was that she was going to be giving her a good talking to about the whole thing. Im not happy she did this but there was no lasting harm and they righted their wrong, so Im good.

To the PP who asked about the teacher apologizing in front of the class. Im not sure if she did or not, dd just told me that she said I apologize for calling you a cheater and I will be changing your grade. She didnt say if the teacher did it in front of everyone or privately. Either way Im fine with it and dd is fine.
